All the dooming was about shit like Myles, and Myles wasn't remotely the issue with the game, the issue was the incoherent open world parts that cast a shadow over the rest of the game and left it feeling disconnected and sluggish, and the lack of enemy variety and weak level design compared to the more intricate Metroid Prime areas of previous titles like Sanctuary Fortress. It's not a 3/10 or 4/10 game, the graphics are nice, the music is nice, it has areas that are very good, some good boss fights. But in a series with several of the greatest games ever made, "decent" is disappointing.
