I honestly can't rank them because my childhood was so influenced by Vice City and San Andreas, but at the same time I'll never play them again since they just feel super janky. I feel like every GTA game has something great to offer, even V because Los Santos was absolutely amazing to just walk around in and observe. Also the game is incredibly well optimized and you just don't see this anymore

The humor didn't hit and none of the characters were interesting except for that russian guy you end up killing. Cash had absolutely zero use beside buying body armor in the start like twice. The phone mechanic was annoying as fuck too

SA did also suffer a bit from that to be fair, but unlike IV the game doesn't control like utter ass and the missions themselves were generally more fun and creative. Then they doubled down on the almost unplayable controls and "listen to someone yell at you for 10 minutes while following a GPS" in all their follow up games.
