So what was the point of his character?
>>729262437To push feminism
>>729262437For Verso to cum after
>>729262437to be a cuck faggot who is constantly told to shut up or speak up or hurry up or stop being a coward until he just dies lmao.
>>729262437You're going to be okay. You are angry with the world because you cried when he died and you don't know how to process it. It's quite normal my retard friend and nothing to be embarrassed about.
>>729262437To subvert expectations
>>729262437To introduce you to the worldVerso is to introduce you to the familyAnd Maelle is to introduce you the dilemma
>>729262437There was no point. The story was written by a woman, and that's why death is treated so flippantly. >Chad 1 dies>Chad 2 immediately shows upIt's exceedingly clear that men are interchangeable in the eyes of women, even if they're attractive men. It's why you should never speak to women.
>>729262437Drama and reaction videos bait
>>729262437THEIR WHERE NO FUCKIGN POINT jesus fuckign christ why the fuck did this gay ai trash win ANYTHING when KCD fucking exists!?
>>729262437the true reason is to garner sympathy points by a half assed Aerith moment with someone you only knew for a few hours. the story reason is that if he was alive he would likely be the only person to talk sense into Maelle/Alicia into leaving the canvas or at least not going full puppet master on everyone
To demonstrate why Alicia feels so strongly for the Canvas even after the truth is revealed.
To show what happens when a good man (Gustave) dies, and a bad man (Verso) takes his place and sways others down the wrong path.
>>729262437to write the most impactful and tragic death of a character in video game history.yes, I said it. Name literally one (1) game with a more impactful death than Gustave's.>w-well aerith from final fanta...No.
>>729264315Gustave wouldn't do shit against Verso even if he was still alive.
>>729262437provide step-father incest r34 with maelle, incest r34 with his sister, make verso look like shit, locks you into the game in 1 act
>>729264394yea nahhe dies and holds no relevance after his burial. he barely gets mentioned or remembered after.
>>729264394>impactfulimpactful how? nothing happens afterward he was actually worthless
>>729262437Is he just a french Jackie Welles?
>>729264469gustave would've saved everyone while only asking for a lune footjob in exchange
>>729264723>>729264806I obviously mean the emotional impact on the PLAYERman the reading comprehension on this board...
>>729264394Aerith has plot relevanceExp33 devs forgot to make gustav plot relevant
>>729262437to break you
>>729262437Playing as him then switching to Verso felt like playing two entirely different games, it's rather curious. The expedition plot gets completely sidelined in favor of the family drama after his death.
>>729265264Well that'ss the thing compared to Aerith we got to know her personality and her relevance to the overall plot. She impacted both concepts with her death. With Gustave we didn't really know him but due to mocap and great voice acting his character was very humanlike which gives the impression his death is much more meaningful than it really was. So one has emotional and narrative impact while the other only appears to.
>>729262437It's the result of using AI gen. The intro was based on Attack on Titan and Gurren Lagan, but the story lost all coherence as it kept moving forward, which is inevitable when using AI for writing.
>>729262563>constantly told to shut up or speak up or hurry up or stop being a cowardHe talks over Lune and tells her what to do and then she does it lmao.>>729264469>Gustave wouldn't do shit against VersoVerso's plan depended entirely on encouraging Maelicia's worst behavior until rRenoir's only remaining option was to destroy the painting. Gustav, by not being female, would have seen what Verso is doing to the women and would have called him out on it.>>729264723>he barely gets mentioned or remembered after.Maelicia's taking the party to Reacher, and what she does there, is entirely a reaction to her realization that Verso let Gustav die.>>729265354>Exp33 devs forgot to make gustav plot relevant>Why didn't this character who drove the entirety of the prologue and Act I continue to drive the plot after his death?Verso and Maelle didn't drive Act I, is that a writing problem too, retard?
>>729264394>Name literally one (1) game with a more impactful death than Gustave's.Yoshi in Super Mario World.
>>729265917>The expedition plot gets completely sidelinedThe Expedition accomplishes its goals and its surviving members continue their lives as expeditioners and holding to their oath, including the one that escapes the painting.
>>729266202Gustave didn't drive act 1 they were all going on the expedition anyways, he didnt cause that. We just saw everything from his perspective. If we started as Lune the game would've progressed the same. He didn't do anything
To be a twist, to be sad, to have Verso just take his place right after which puts us right with the cast in being suspicious of him. To make the ending work; Gustave being alive would give us the true path, the good ending for all.>>729265917That is the point. Act 1 is about the people of Lumiere, the Expedition and all of their struggles. Act 2 shifts to the Painted family and their place, bridged between their world and their creator. Act 3 is about the gods beyond the Painting and their grief. We play as the Expeditioners, as a Painted Dessendre and a real one.
At least he had some good stuff. Lune and Sciel were fucking pointless.
>>729266268/v/ritics of E33 always pick Mario and Xenochronicles as their highest examples. A curious phenomena. Do you own any clothing that an adult would wear, like a tailored suit or a button shirt that's not visibly wrinkled?
>Verso shows up immediately after Gustavo's death I couldn't believe my eyes, literally fanfic tier writing. I have seen Mexican telenovelas with more decency.
>>729266393>tailored suitOkay boomer.
>>729264394That dude from RDR2, I haven't played it but I've seen people post webms of normgroids crying like fags over itMeanwhile they're mildly bummed when Gustave dies
>>729266350>Gustave didn't drive act 1 they were all going on the expedition anyways, he didnt cause thatYou're thinking of the prologue. And the Expedition is made of volunteers, and he did volunteer. He invented the Lumina Converter, survived the beach, took command of the party, reunited the survivors, and then made every decision and won every argument for all of Act I. He was the party's representative in negotiations with Golgra, Esquie, Francios and the Gestral Guardian. Verso had to let him die because as long as he lived, Verso wouldn't be able to control the party's decisions or Maelle's emotions.>If we started as Lune the game would've progressed the sameShe wouldn't have found Maelle or Scielle. She would have sat on her hands at the Blue Tree for a few days and then killed herself out of guilt for choosing the landing site.
Tragedy. He also developed Lune as Maelle as characters, but Lune also just died for tragedy's sake. The point of the story basically was just the drama of tragedy. It's pretty shallow writing.

>>729262437For Maelle's forced character development. It's a common trope.

>>729262437To nurture the fake (or real?) I dont completely know, maelle to its why he sorta kinda looks like verso... at least thats how my high ass interpret it... all i know is its bizarro mirror world.
