>Most of the developers surveyed were C-suite level.

Reminder that Anti-Steam cultists are everywhere. They even side with C-suite executives.

This is first monopoly ever that turned out to be a good thing
>>

The vintage story guy seems to be able to self-host just fine. Even has a equivalent or better version of steam workshop.

Monopoly aka safeguarding gaming from the globohomos
>>
it's amonopoly because steam won't advertise my metaphor for depression narrative experience on the front page every day for a month!

>Monopoly aka safeguarding gaming from the globohomos
gabe bent the knee to globohomo with sweet baby inc
>>
>Monopoly is when you offer a better service than your competition.
>>

Most companies that built a monopoly are a good thing for consumers at first. That's how they became dominant in the first place.
>>
I think it's funny that vidya companies didn't care until there was a sudden resurgence in PC gaming. Oh you have a problem with Steam NOW? Get fucked.
>>
>>729267532
Even if a genuinely good service popped up, would many people even make the switch? Not many people would want to lose their library.
>>
>>729267531
Nah, they turned around and declared war on jews

You don't lose your Steam library when you buy games on a different store.
>>
>>729267680
>Not many people would want to lose their library.
your steam account doesn't get deactivated if you use another service kek

Gabe Newell was the guy who tried to fight against the European Union because they were gonna force them to implement refunds or they wouldn't be allowed to operate there
>>
Gog has a better refund policy than steam.
I don't care about social media features in my vidya store.
>>
>>729268105
EA launcher or origin as it was called back then was doing refunds from the getgo
And they were even letting you refund hours after you played the game

Even so, it'd be pointless to have two platforms when one already works well enough and has more games. It'd be a risky maneuver for any potential startups.
>>
>>729267262
Those first two are probably the reason steam has such a huge market share
>>
>>729268250
GoG works just fine along with Steam
>>
>72 percent of devs are retarded
This is how lack of gatekeeping looks like.
The consequences of making game dev too accessible.
>>
>>729268387
Steam was forced basically at gunpoint to do refunds in 2015
If the European union weren't such totalitarian sissies gabe would let you get duped by that company that swore the game was gonna have all those advertised features

That's like complaining about youtube being a monopoly. It's not, the alternatives are just ass, driving virtually all consumers to one place.

What about rumble?
Adleast you can snort coke and say naughty words there as long as you don't bomb a federal building
>>
>>729269071
Not a good comparison considering Jewgle gets corporate favouritism and has major ties to DARPA and a bunch ton of other shady people
>>

gog has that

>19% of people do not give a fuck about steam being a monopoly
funny
>>
>>729269713
gog also has a stupid name, thought not as stupid as epic games store
>>
>>729267680
That's not a monopoly
>>
Steam would have a monopoly on the PC market if they were the only store on the platform, like Apple, Sony or Microsoft with their hardware. Steam doesn't even do this with their hardware. You can buy a game from GOG, Epic or whatever launcher supports Linux on a Deck. The fact that most people use Steam because it has the best customer service, user reviews and is the most convenient service doesn't make it a monopoly. Make a better service.
>>
>>729267048
Most game I got this year were from DLsite, so yeah, it's not a monopoly.
>>
>>729267610
>22 years
Gabe is really taking his sweet time to go the proper monopoly way
>>
>>729267387
>This is first monopoly ever that turned out to be a good thing
Because it isn't a monopoly.
