>>729268871The main issue with this kind of mechanic in an RPG is that it's nearly impossible to make it feel organic.If you set the timing too lax, then it just becomes monotonous and feels like and arbitrary mechanic for the sake of itself, and if the timings are too strict without any clear indicators, it becomes a frustrating game of trial-and-error until you perfectly memorize the timing of every single attack in the game, which again eventually trivializes every encounter and just becomes more annoying busywork.
