I didn't hear anyone being pissed off, mostly just grossed out or shocked which was sort of the point.

The entire reason BG3 sold as well as it did was the marketing push they did featuring bearfucking. The game was in early access for YYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSSSSS and did HORRIBLY. They know what sold for them, they're trying to do it again, I can't fault them.
