I know for a fact that I got my Dreamcast as a birthday gift because my friend had one and I was dying for one and basically begging my mom after my friend got his for his birthday in May...I ended up getting mine in July that same year. I also got a Gamecube as a late Christmas gift...I only said Gamecube because I already had a PS2 and I assumed the Xbox was too expensive...then I found out years later that my parents were using some kind of bonus points they had accumulated...so I could've gotten an Xbox instead of a fucking Gamecube...was still grateful but was kinda pissed.X360 was a birthday gift and the last console I was gifted. PS3 I got myself. Same with PS4, PS5, and Switch 1.

I'm 38 but N64 was my first. My parents avoided letting me play games until I was a bit older, so I never had a NES or SNES or any other consoles until N64. I got a Gameboy Color soon after and pokemon too and after that a PS1, and eventually I had a PS2 / Xbox and Gamecube and from there on I've had basically every console.Right now I game on a PS5 and my PC but I have a switch, not interested in a Switch 2 since there's no games I want on it. No need for Xbox anymore, I had an Xbone but I stopped buying Xbox a while ago since everything is on PC. I never had a Sega console though. I remember going to electronics stores in the 90s and seeing stacks of dreamcasts that weren't selling though.
