For anyone looking for a real answer it's because we're are not interested in the ordinary. Even in mythical times we were drawn to the fantastical, the extraordinary and the idealized. You'd never want to play as Nathan Drake if he couldn't perform those stunts nor would you want to watch a movie about an average looking if you were going to draw rather than realism.
