Merry Christmas /v/........tell me your gift, don't wait till morning.

My friend got me a wrestling almanac from 2000, and my art got front paged on Newgrounds. Everyone I know is too broke to afford any more presents. It happens
>>
>>729282092
I got...nothing. Honestly haven't been recieving xmas gifts or bday gifts even since I turned 19 a few years ago. Is this normal-ish? I am not even talking about "big gifts" just things like fuck-off goofy shirts or useful things like a drilling set and whatnot.

normal

My mom and grandma got me some prepaid tattoo time with my late dad's tattoo artist. I love them, it's a good gift. Socks and underwear too, and a box of those chocolates that she gives me every year.

Do you buy other people gifts? Usually people give some small shit at least, it's kind of an unspoken thing that if you don't usually buy gifts you're not into the whole Christmas present thing.

My sister gave me a pair of socks and mittens she knitted herself. I love it. Got a house full of junk already but never enough of cozy winter clothing.

All my gifts are usually candy, though I always tell people every other day that isn't Christmas I'm not a fan of sweets if the topic is brought up.
>Want some cake?
>No thanks, I don't really eat sweets.
Most of Christmas is me cooking for the family and it's a pretty exhausting ordeal. Feels like I put in the most effort for everyone else to have fun, and then I usually leave, because I'm tired, stressed, and the kids get really loud. It's actually ruined my enjoyment of holidays as a hole, which makes me feel even worse, as I know I don't have much time left with loved ones.

that's pretty shit if you're getting them stuff every year. although if you're an adult and you're not getting them anything, you can't really expect them to continue buying gifts for you.

that burden of the christmas cook is heavy. don't you have anyone to help out with prep and washing up?

>anyone to help out
Nope. I cook nearly all the food in my house, then pack it up in my truck, drive across the road to our parents house where we all eat, and then when I'm done eating, immediately leave and go back to my house for peace and quiet. Few hours later, I'm called, and I go over to clean up there. The guests almost always take the food home, so I'm left with nothing. Pack up my stuff, go back home, bring my stuff in, clean up if I didn't already, and if the guests didn't leave enough, then I make me a meal for the evening. We usually eat at midday or noon, so I'm usually hungry by then.

But it's only about 8 times out of the year. It's doable.
