How do you guys use something like this without mispressing a button?

I don't grip my mouse like a neanderthal, for one.

the buttons are stiff. how do you press a button without moving the cursor?

I prefer the G502 layout
Fewer buttons but very easy to use

>>

Eventually, you start being able to feel the difference between the buttons. Once that happens, it's hard to press the wrong one.
>>

Use your hand.

Logicool G600 my beloved
>>
>>729285874
I use the G600. The side buttons concave and the buttons in the middle have nubs like the F and J keys on a keyboard so you know where your thumb is. I can't go back to using standard mice but since Logi doesn't want to make G600s anymore I'm not sure if I want to go with Razer or Corsair when my current mouse inevitably craps out.

The keys on my cheap 20 dollar keyboard are so worn down you can't read what they say anymore. Still works fine though
>>
>>729285874
binding every single button on this thing to different funny voice lines in Chivalry and spamming them nonstop was the absolute peak of my pc gaming life

You can lay your thumb over several buttons and the distributed pressure won't press any one of them, even while making quick movements or picking up the mouse.
>>
>>729288248
Now this is the biggest meme with mice.
>>
>>729285874
Whatever you do, don't go down this path OP.
It's miserable, all the mmo mice sucks ass, is expensive and receive very few updates.
I have a small graveyard of Corsair Scimitars right behind me, maybe 5 or 6 I lost count. and some Nagas too.
The Wheel goes out quick, it's absolutely bottom of the barrel quality all around.
>>
>>729290489
shouldve went with the reddragon. cheap as fuck and works perfectly
oddly nagas had that problem when they launched and they're still terrible for it. doesn't make any fucking sense
>>

I have rog one because buttons are differently shaped

>>

5 has a little bump that you can feel it so you can navigate from there.
>>
>>729290313
Sure must be fun to clean. Main reason I never considered buying it for a moment.
>>729285874
I bought a Scimitar, no regrets. Took some getting used to because I'd only bought lighter mice before so it was a bit heavier, the buttons are great. I must say I probably don't use 7-12 though so in the future I'll buy a mouse with a couple less buttons.
>>
>>729285874
One of the buttons shouldn't have any controls. Just empty. And that will be the default resting postion.

Very comfy mouse. When I play PGR, I put my orbs on buttons 1-8 and it just works.
>>
>>729285874
I use the Razer Naga Trinity. Great for my MMORPG phases (FF14 mainly) cause I can swap out the side buttons for just browsing. Every button on this thing is at a different angle. All comfortable to rest your thumb on but also you can feel every individual button.
>>
I need a recommandation for WASD in moba.
LoL released this mode where you can keybind any mouse button for anything and you use WASD for movement.
I was thinking of using thumbs as left click actually has to just spam auto attack or last hit in some situations and it's dumb to use it for keybinds, doesn't work that well.

>>729285874
My old one had stiff buttons that you weren't at risk of pressing by accident. It eventually broke and the ones I've had since were a lot more sensitive, so I just had to adjust my grip to not use my thumb much, I'm mostly securing the mouse with my ring and pinky finger. The new one has replaceable panels so I only have the 12 buttons on when I'm actually playing an MMO, I can rest my thumb more normally the rest of the time.
>>
>>729285874
As someone who has an "mmo" mouse, I frankly only use the first two columns since it feels impractical using all four in the heat of gameplay. My hand tends to sit back a bit, but no matter what your grip, I find it difficult to imagine using every single button comfortably, especially with large hands or long fingers. That's still eight extra buttons I have for remapping though.
>>
>>729292552
>eight
Six buttons I mean, though I have used the third column for less important functions.
>>
>>729285874
Are those actually all that useful for mmos? I don't play mmos but I figured you could just as easily use your numpad instead. Assuming those buttons are for pressing one of your 20 skills.
>>
>>729285874
is there one with like 4-6 buttons?
>>
>>729285874
You don't need to grip the mose really hard to move it.
>>729286293
Practice is not even needed. I just do it naturally.
>>729286409
Got this for christmas. It's very awkward but it has two more mouse buttons than a deathadder essential so it is worth it.
>>
>>729285874
I've never accidentally pressed a side button, but it took me months before I stopped accidentally right clicking when I rested my middle finger on the right mouse button
Not sure if it's the design or my hand or the microswitch, but it felt like it took so little pressure to right click when I first got it
>>
>>729292892
>Are those actually all that useful for mmos?
I haven't played the game in years, but I found it incredibly useful for guild wars 2 by mapping the attack skills to the five closest buttons, which then let me remap the utility skills left down the keyboard (1 - 5 instead of 6 - 0). The mouse was pretty essential for movement, so numpad wouldn't be practical.

This looks like it would hurt to use desu. You either have to stretch your thumb unnaturally or you have to tense it up into a claw and use it that way for half of them. The two extra buttons the cheaper gayming mice have is enough for me.

you train your muscles of course

all the buttons and features in the world, and the company didn't bother adding in a switch that doesnt cause the mouse to double click after a year or two.

this but the buttons are updated now
i like mine but I only use it when playing RTS and switch to other mice when working or playing other games, so ymmv. not that I think it's bad for general use, especially because you can swap out the buttons, but I'd rather keep my sweaty gaming mice clean
>>
MMO autist here, I've been using 12-button mice like this since the first Razer Naga back in....what, 2009?

The buttons are stiff enough that you can't accidentally press them, and are slanted at different angles so you don't fat-thumb them. It takes a couple weeks to get the muscle memory down but after that it's all good. I honestly don't know how I played WoW for 2 years without it. The ability to have my left hand on WSAD at all times and my entire hotbar on my right thumb just makes movement a non-issue.
Don't get Razer Naga (or any Razer product, really) though, it's shit and keeps having mechanical issues. I bought some cheap chink ripoff for like $30 off amazon and it has been working great for 6+ years now.
>>
>>729299754
eh, seems like razer has fixed their quality issues these days. was true for a long time, though. dunno how they made it this far

>bro can't handle G600, gives it to me
>got used to having them and stuck with MMO mouses every since
I mostly use just two extra buttons instead of tab & back really, but my internal "REEEE!" when I do not have them available is always gigantic
>>
>>729292552
While there is a market for such mice, I doubt they can be useful even for occasional mmo players.

I use them has “shift keys”. Basically i use 1-3 to switch spell bars. It won’t be needed soon now that wow is gonna be totally dog shit forever.

But basically holding down 1 on the mouse should let me push 1-6 on another tool bar without moving my hands. Takes some time to bake in the muscle memory but it not very long

MMO mice and the g502 are bad mice. Get yourself a Viper V3 Pro or an OP1 8k V2, or whatever chink clone is out there now. They're miles ahead and will blow your mind.
>>
Stop getting scammed with expensive brand mice. It's not the 90s anymore.
A random $20 mouse with 2 shoulder buttons has a perfectly good laser, and will probably break in two years just like all overpriced kiked shit you buy.

True but it's better to get a $40 chinese mouse that is also 2.4ghz wireless and has a charging station. Pic related is mine. Complete game changer.

>>729302202
Just get a wired mouse with a braided cable. You won't even notice the cable anymore.

only the switches wear out. if you desolder and solder new switches in, they last a lifetime.

I have that one and I only use the four corners. The main purpose to getting one is to overcome dyslexia, but it just gives you another keyboard. There's little bumps on some of the numbers but for me they require too much thinking time. One with six fat buttons would've been a better choice.

>>729301146
Aren't all of their product lines start to fail after 1-2 years of use for like a decade now? (doubleclicks)
>>
I have small hands
Also do not buy the scimitar. The mouse wheel has started backscrolling on every single one I've owned, and I've had around 5 under warranty. It's a shame because the rest of the mouse is pretty good.
>>
>>729285874
I prefer a vertical mouse with extra buttons above the thumb rest.
>>
>>729305712
Does anyone but a tiny minority even enjoy all this RGB shit on mouse and computer components like video cards?
>>
>>729300432
>>729305712
That ring finger button is great, i have been using the same g600 with that old logo for 11 years now.
Had to replace the left right ringfinger switches though obviously.
>>
the "home row" nub things on the G600 make it easy to tell where your fingers are
plus you just get used to it. it's way harder to press a wrong button on your mmo mouse than it is on a keyboard
>>
>>729300432
I've come to prefer the small buttons near the left click on the razer naga v2 series but I do miss the concave grouping of the side buttons.
>>
the one i use also has a button to the left of the left click which i bind to ctrl and i can't use any other mouse now because I'm used to that, I'm on my third one of these i think. it's called a redragon perdition
>>
>>729293240
>>729286409
Just got one of these for Christmas to replace my OG 10 year old 502, still works but the middle mouse button was finally starting to go, and the cord weave had some fraying. I don't like how the new one uses that thin little cord, I liked the original's thicker braided cord. The magnetic bottom plates are the same so I slapped my old one (with the old logitech logo on it) on the new. This pleases the machine spirit.
