So is it actually good?
yeah. It's quite the masterpiece.
Dogshit Kojima garbage has never been good.
It's weirdly good. Even walking is fun.
>>729288665i enjoyed it. finished it twice, original and dc
>>729288665The original release was good but it's been ruined by adding loads of shit to it that it didn't need.
>>729288665First one was great.Second one had more bells and whistles but somehow didn't manage to keep the magic going, at least for me.
>>729289084The extra highways, zip-line and drop kicking are kino. The rest are kinda meh, being given the Maser gun so early was a mistake.
Yes but only if you have Reddit.
>>729289558>muh designated bogeyman site you'll never fit in here tourist-kun
>>729288665The first one was better. The second game gives you everything from the start and it feels like shit.
>>729288665Mogged to hell and back in every department by Baby Steps.Better walking gameplayBetter cutscenesBetter storyBetter charactersBetter worldBetter delivery questsBetter music
>>729288665People had a change of heart about it after COVID. It's a game that appeals to the human condition and its anxieties such as Childbearing, Death, Maturity and World Collapse in a very weirdly dirty way that no other game has. It ultimately falls a bit flat but it's definitely worth a playthrough.
>>729288665No it's shit.
>>729288665yes, it is worth playing. heavy with the symbolism, if you know what to look for. it is fun but chill, not a game if you are looking for some high intensity gaming. never really gives you a challenge that fully pays off all the systems that are in the game, but what is there is still interesting.>>729290661the initial hate for it and then the turnaround by the very critics who tried dunking on it showed me how little the opinions of most critics matter, they are not actually secure in their own critique and just say things that they think their audience wants to hear. i always knew it, but never before had i been given such a clear example of these cretins doing it.
Playing the sequel right now and I hate how you obvious it is that the whole game feels like a response of the criticism over the first one, it gives you so much stuff so fast that the original feeling of the first one is gone. I think Kojima has a problem of over correcting in sequels, happened the same with MGSV having almost no cutscenes cause people where complaining 4 had to many
>>729288665how's the gameplay?
>>729295372it has an interesting base that doesn't get fully utilized. it has controls that are familiar enough to not be uncomfortable but novel enough to feel unique and take some time to master. it has cool concepts based around terrain and enemy navigation but it never really pushes the level design to force the player to utilize all of (or really many) of the tools at their disposal. the player quickly gets upgrades that trivialize the unique mechanics of the game (power skeleton basically makes it so you never have to worry about toppling over). there's stealth mechanics, but terrain is not built in a way where you really have many options to do stealth and more have to rely on nonlethally taking down enemies. BT encounters (the ghosts/monsters) hardly end up being scary or tense, you can walk through the areas unscathed pretty easily, you can just walk away from the boss if it shows up, and they are hardly hard to beat if you DO choose to engage and fight. as for traversal, there's loads of tools like ladders and ropes and shit to get around but you are hardly forced to use them, there is usually an option to get past wherever you MIGHT use a tool by just walking slightly further.vehicles also feel like absolute shit to drive but are some of the best ways of getting around so not using them is kind of silly. i really like the game but it does not live up to its potential.
>>729288665I spent 88 hours in the game and still have 7 chapters left and I have no idea what the fuck is happening. Do not play it. People were not honest. They'd say >it's not for everyone>I get why some people won't like it but i do. Just don't. Again. 88 hours. And I havent played since 2021
>>729298864i beat the game in 35 and doddled a bunch. the chapters also start becoming shorter and shorter, the third chapter being the longest and almost feeling endless until you hit the first clifford fight. as for not knowing what the fuck is going on, it isn't THAT hard to grasp and they give you a steady drip feed of information to start piecing things together.also, how is it not honest to say "it's not for everyone"? that seems like a true statement, some people (like yourself) bounce off of it and some people get drawn in and can't stop until they get a perfect rating on every delivery, have completed every highway, unlocked every collectible and tool, and built their own zipline network across america.
>>729288665GOATed with the sauce
>>729288665Yes the first game is good. Great even. The sequel feels just like a big DLC addon because it doesn't really do much new. Plus it has a worse plot.
>>729288665i've only dropped two games in the last two decadesthis and duke nukem forever
>>729301697what are some of the other highs and lows of gaming in the past 20 years in your opinion?
