The show simultaneously balances on viewers knowing something about Fallout yet mangles existing source material so badly it feels like deliberate disrespect. And if you dismiss all of that with "It's just meant to be a dumb show full of spectacle" then you are speaking absolutely contrary to what the show-runners themselves promised in all advertising.
