I do still think there was a conspiracy with journos colluding to shill western studios use of japanese IPs in order to basically steal it from them because DmC was actually utterly juvenile and "misogynistic" in many ways yet at the time Journos attacked the fans and gave it pass for seemingly no reason.
It made no sense why they were so fucking defensive over this game when it does so many things they typically hate.
