You never played exodus, it's neither.
>>
>>729329391
I'm nta and it's some of both.
the open zones are pretty much open world, with the best parts of them being.. you guessed it.. the linear legacy levels. the prison prologue. the warehouse in the first zone. under SHAITAN's lighthouse. the swamp was a shitshow.
>>
I’m playing it for the first time on switch and it’s alright so far
>>
I should play through the whole series again.

>last light
nvm
>>
>>729329902
Then Stalker and Half-Life are open world I guess.
The word becomes menaingless if you keep misusing it like that.

hopefully never,
also hope all those who were involved in making Exodus already dead from russian missiles.
Metro should have stayed in a fucking METRO.
not becoming another Ubishit openworld.
>>
>>729330254
>Ubishit openworld.
Another brainless golem repating meaningless schizo babble.
It's nothing like Ubislop. Not even 10%.
>>
>>729330129
stalker literally is, hl isn't
it's not misuse if everyone except you understand the difference.
>>
>>729330365
stfu nigger.
open world in not the only problem of this game (thou the worst of it).
characters for some reason became completele diferent from previous games, as if devs themselves didnt even played their games.
just look at Miller. In M2 he was stoic and smart, but in Exodus it is a complete comic book moron.
also kys, toon.
>>
>>729330423
The buggy section makes HL2 literally open world by your definition. Big parts of Episode 2 also.
>>
>>729330586
It's almost like people change with big events, and what happened in Last Light with d6 was a huge fuckig event. You are grasping at straws here.
>>
>>729330737
No, it's just that the game is shit.
Happens all the time with sequels.
>>
>>729330602
HL2 is a series of connected linear segments with points of no return everywhere. Stalker allows you to freely go back to any place you previously visited. Stop being retarded intentionally to try and "win" an argument.
>>
>>729329030
Exodus was garbage.
Not that the first two were good.

>HL2 is a series of connected linear segments with points of no return everywhere
So what makes a game open world?
Do you need both of these fullfilled? Exodus also has points of no return between chapters.
Is DOOM open world?
You can explore the maps freely and it's not linear inbetween level changes.

>>729330953
>let me tell you how sequel to games I never liked is shit
Ok.
>>
>>729331153
Fuck off, Semanticlese.
>>
>>729329030
I'm really enjoying Exodus. I like the wholesome pro-family vibe. Miller is decently written, with strengths and weaknesses. I love the weapon customization and survival aspects. The desert area was my least favorite, but I liked the swamp and am enjoying the forest level. Overall I'd give it a 7/10.

2033 > exodus >>>>>last light

I actuallly enjoy 2033 more than stalker

It's a VR meme spinoff by some noname dev, not a sequel.

They completely tanked the narrative with the "Invisible Watchers" bullshit.
None of it makes any fucking sense at all and it diminishes the setting to an absolutely ludicrous degree. All of the struggles, worldbuilding, stories, fucking everything is retroactively made utterly pointless by it for absolutely no reason at all.
>>
>>729330365
Bro youre friken delusional its the most movie game tech demo of all time. Playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - S.o.C. made me realise just how hand holdy and lame exodus was. the original metro (not the demaster) is really the best one
>>
>>729331637
You are just a soulless golem that can't think of feel. The devs of the original SOC worked on this and it shows.
Lots of little details off the beaten path, lots of missale secrets and interations.
>>
I can't believe the massive reveal from the third book is farted away at the start of Exodus. I started reading books about 10 years ago the I can see why booktards hate adaptations of books.
>>
>>729331934
Glukhovsky himself wrote the story of Exodus.
Imo the devs did a better job at adapting 2033 into a game without his input. Sometimes the author does more damage to his work than any third party doing adaptations. I don't really care that much about the books so I don't mind the changes.
>>
>>729332123
Fuck me. I could understand if the first chapter ended with the third books reveal, but it being part of the intro is fucking weak.
>>
>>729329030
NEVER
The author is against the Special Military Operation and can't come back to the Russian Federation bcause treason. Nobody will support another game
>>
what was the twist again? that moscow wasnt the only place that survived?
>>
>>729329391
it has an insane amount of ingame cutscenes in it, what are you talking about?
>>
>>729332219
>only place
No anon, the entire world survived and went business as usual. It was only russia who wanted to go full north korea with the atomic bullshit to keep everybody inside
>>
>>729332219
Kind of, the twist is that the reason they couldn't get a signal from other stations is that Miller was blocking the signals. Artyom makes the journey out to a station to radio station (for some reason I can't remember) but finds out that they aren't looking for signals, they're using the station to jam signals.
>>
>>729332268
10% of playtime at worst and they are Half-Life 2 "cutscenes".
The majority of the time you are in full crontrol doing a mission on your own.
Hell the fist game was way worse with that since it had these forced companion parts.

>>
>>729332546
That twist happens at the very start of Exodus. Artyom starts at the top of the tower trying to get a signal and never gets one. Then 10 minutes later its like "oh haha we were jamming them all along hehe now lets leave the metro".
It doesn't land anywere the same.
>>
>>729331324
Yeah 2033 is pure slav-kino
>>
>>729332546
>>729332675
Thats exodus
The last book revealed that everything was bullshit. Included the monsters.
Exodus and last book ending are Incompatible

WHAT.
>>
these cocksuckers rly need to hire better game directors and game designers, only the graphics are left in these series
>>
>>729333167
You have to keep in mind Arytom fires a gun like, twice in the entire series in the books.

It's not the same per se, but Ashes checked a lot of boxes for me for fallout and metro
