Christmas edition
Several racist recommended wreckfest to me in previous threads so I got it and I'm having fun with it. I don't know why I ignored it for so long.
>>729329906beam ng is what you need
>>729331159I have beam ng but no wheel, I'm not a great racist. On tarmac the cars are impossible to control with a gamepad.
>>729329906Protip: the hardest a.i setting disables rubberbanding so if you are a fast boiiiiiiiii it can actually get easier* but if you are born a little too slow it is much harder.*the a.i actually drives legit and tight which is why this only happens on the hardest setting - most players need the a.i slowed down to keep up with it.
>mfw boys
>>729331687>mfw succ lemon or eat sweet but taste bitter
>>729333047she's just a bitch
Been playing some C1GPIts a pretty tight game
OH YEAH>PC players need not apply
why yes i am racist
i stopped playing racing games because they dont look good anymore
>>729335995buddy they looked great by 1997 at the latest and only got better from there
>>729331350Did you install the advanced steering mod? It makes controllers way more playable.
luv me ryan cooper
>>729336176horizon 4 was the last good looking racist gameall others looked terrible since then
Started emulating Rallisport Challenge 2 after the last thread, I'm impressed how it holds graphically by just turning up resolution. May make some webms tomorrow, any tips for coding? I already have webms for lazys.
anything good on Steam sale? I don't wanna spend more than like 10 bucks
>>729336691Asseto Corsa.
>>729336296No never heard of it. I'll check it out.
>>7293365324 looks good but has some cancerous design choices. FH5 does indeed look bland as fuck except the canyon run.
Stop begging for a GT port and start playing Automobilista 2.
>>729336691Redout 2 if you wanna try ag racing.
>/v/, if you put them on the seat of an actual race car
to the window to the wallas the sweat drips down my balls
>>729331350>On tarmac the cars are impossible to control with a gamepad. No, they're not. You just suck.
Is CarX Street actually good?
>>729337339Yes.Until the grind sets in.
>>729337474Didn't they do a bait and switch where they removed a dlc from the Deluxe Edition prior to release?
>>729337593iunno but even on release for PC (which ad patch notes to the effect of "we reduced the grind") it is still mobile tier grinding.
>>729337673i simply don't see how racing on these city roads (more like highways) is any fun, shit looks stupid
Still don't get why TXR wasn't nominated in The Game Awards...
>>729337779Its kinda meh. The overall world design is good with city streets, country roads, mountain touge etc but the handling is shit tier burnout (even worse than dangerous driving) and the money grind means after a couple hours of gameplay progression stalls HARD.
>>729337779"thing, japan"
>>729337859herrogaijin not like nippon autismbettah ruck next rear
>>729337081>manual is a rare thing nowfucking hell.
any good arcadey racers out there?
>>729338154only in burgerlandthat said truck drivers all use auto worldwide in modern trucks because trucks are 10 years ahead of plebian cars
>>729337859Because it's shit.
>>729337859When was the last time a racing game was nominated on GA?
>>729338313dunno but imma guess ridge racer in 1995
riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidge racer
>>729338626hi
>>729338626>t. genius driver who will have to teach me
Currently having the best time on TDU: Solar Crown, I don't know why it's hated. It's basically FH5 but in a city map.Not even hating on FH5, love that game, love the Crew Motorfest, don't know why people dog on TDU:SC so much though.
>>729338920bot posting anon gob bless
>>729338221Depends what you mean by arcadey, the crew games are technically arcadey based on how the cars handle (and the fact you get a turbo-boost button and whatnot).
>>729339185>be a videogame enjoyer>post on /v/>get called shill/bot constantly
>>729335916Are early Wipeouts the only racing games where camera actually looks into corners?
>>729339206Do you know about air nitro yet?
https://store.steampowered.com/sub/18370/what are we thinking fellow racists? this package went 75% for the first time this sale
>>729339185yeah I've seen him posting this shit nonstopsolar crown is not a good game and an embarrassment compared to TDU1 and even TDU2 and i will not buy it, fuck off
>>729339340Using your nitro while in the air? I don't know specifically what you mean, care to explain?
>>729339579Yeah, boosting in mid-air. Gives you a significant speed boost despite it not making any physical sense, it's a carryover mechanic from 2 where it was introduced to entice people to take jumps more.Nitrous management is actually a pretty key part of going fast in all The Crew games, you get the biggest boost when your nitrous is all the way at the top of the gauge and its power slowly decreases as it depletes.
>>729332573>not Snowy Ridge or Summit
>>729339805ho ho ho I raise YOU motherfucker
>>729339769Thank you for the tips, friend.
Happy Birthday Jesus and Merry Christmas to you all.
>>729339206>>729339769which the crew game should i get? i only really care4 for cars and bikes
>>729340340>dude>mehico>lmao
>>729340392The optimal way to play the Crew games is to get both the Crew 2 and Crew Motorfest and then upload your cars from the Crew 2 into Motorfest. It's easier/faster to unlock cars in the Crew 2 (and I think the game is worth playing anyway imo). The car link is permanent, so every time you unlock more cars in the Crew 2 it tends to upload it into your Crew Motorfest garage instantly.
>>729340609coo. does it have a cockpit mode?
>>729340609>dem hazrard boys
>>729340603I hate beaner scum, but some of the buildings built by the Spanish settlers are nice.
>>729340793>dude>every road is 4+ cars wide>lmao "tight" roads
>>729340723Yup. I think the one in Motorfest in particular is really really good.
>>729338920>It's basically FH5 but in a city map. That's exactly why it is hated. It's exactly Forza Horizon, except worse by default because you can't beat Microsoft's ability to acquire car licenses and shit out 3D models so nobody plays it. The only thing it takes from the original two games is the "solar crown" thing that was not in the first game and was universally panned because you had to do the stupid tournament against stupid faces to unlock Oahu in 2. And the physics SUCK. That's one thing you don't fuck up in a racing game, you'd think they'd learn that from TDU2... Oh wait, not a single soul who worked on the originals worked on SC. It could've been a breath of fresh air, but it ends up same shit as everything else.
>>729340838doesn't really affect my enjoyment of the game so *shrug*
>>729340859alright, I am convinced. Ill buy the crew 2 and then later ill buy motorfest when it is cheaper.
>>729340934why are you proud of being stupid
>>729340998fuck you gringo
>>729340918I don't agree with the car physics being bad in TDU:SC. They're pretty much on par with Forza.>>729340998>nooooo why can't I convince you to hate things nooooo!
.
>>729340993Make sure to fiddle with both the controller settings and the vehicle-specific "pro settings", they make a massive difference in how the driving feels. Out of the box it's pretty bad, but with some tweaking they both become pretty fun.
>>729341114>They're pretty much on par with Forza.Forza's physics are extremely boring. TDUSC's physics are boring and also distinctly understeery, which would've been okay on a big open map like Oahu, but we're in urban HK. Even the starter cars feel awkward, nevermind anything faster, so they are both boring and unfitting. Forza at least realises that pitfall and bandaids itself with highway-wide roads and runway-wide highways, which is a shitty solution but is, nevertheless, a solution.
>play TDU:SC>my favorite thing about it eventually became the car delivery missions because you can't crash and you have to drive very observantly of the road, paying attention to all the objects you may hit and to the other vehicles on the roadPure gaming bliss
spent the first half of the year emulating sega rally and sega rally 2, then my controller broke. I found Colin McRae rally and played through the game with a keyboard.why is it that all these indie devs that go out and try to recreate early 2000's simcade rally racers always fail when it comes how it feels to drive the cars.
>>729341901because they're basing their intent on "how does the old game feel to play," not "how does driving a car feel, and how does the old game attempt to recreate it." they're trying to make a copy of a copy without knowing what the original hardware-limited goal was.
>>729329595Is the Crew 2 worth $6? Never played that series before, looks kind of neat.
>>729341769When you beat the first boss in TDUSC you unlock the Ibiza map and it’s not as tight and restrictive as Hong KongBut I like the Hong Kong map. You have to drive so slowly for some of the races just to make all the tight corners. I unironically love that shit, and it filters the racers who can’t take their finger off the acceleration button for even half a second
>>729342119Just for the cross country experience yes
>>729342119Not the deepest handling model and the "story" is basically pointless, but it's so huge and varied that you'll get your 6 bucks worth of enjoyment easily.
>check out the most popular player made skins for cars>they all got swastikas and KKK on themI cry tears of joy every time, love racist game fans
>>729343383bitch if they are not F/A Racing they are scrubs and should GTFO.
>>729343727HELL YEAH BROTHER
FH6, Wreckfest 2, GTA6, whatever the next Crew game will be, people bitch and moan about le gaming being bad today but I think it feels pretty good to be a racing game fan
>>729343931>not the blue solvaluAnon wants to be 3rd place lmao
>>729344301My dream racist game is in the style of 2d test drive and early NFS - essentially a game of selling you "the bedroom poster" of cars you cannot afford to drive in places that basically don't exist outside of brochures and pictures to be hung on your wall in 1998. Said game should be everything 12 year old (You) thought racan is.
>>729344319may I interest youin a solvalou
>>729344646>diabookay>yellowokay>wingokay>solvalovREAL SHIT
>>729344731Please understand, I was running out of fitting liveries after already doing a devil car since there were no actual Group C cars in FH4 but the R390 has almost identical funny eyebrows.
>>729344731i never understood people calling the 13th a diablo even when younger because i had a matchbox car of a diablo (with rubber wheels!) and a lot of hours in NFS3 and goddammit i knew what a diablo looked like and it wasn't that
>>729344958i can forgive you.
QRD on Asseto Corsa Evo and its roadmap (and AC Rally while we are at it)? Automobilista 2 right now seems the most complete and cheap sim out there but it's too motorsporty for my tastes. I need something more grounded.
>>729344646>rareheroThat ain't some rotterdam nation
What AG racist game should I play next?
>>729345076It is number 13 and looks somewhat like the diablo. A lot of mags from the time called it as such hence the name stuck for OGs.
>>729345153The only AG racers worth it are wipeout 2097. Wipeout Fury and BallisticNG.
>>729345081Thank you, brother.>>729345139That song is cool and what I usually picked because it sounded so goofy but I just think Rare Hero is bitchin' as a license plate in a cheesy way, especially since it fits right within 8 characters. i always had a soft spot for Speedster even, and admit the first half of rare hero is kind of iffy but that fucking PIANO, GODDAMN, and everyone else loves it too, just look at that 'most replayed spot' peak.the whole soundtrack is batshit and i love all of it but RRR's somehow doesn't do it for me at all and I think it's just familiarity
>>729345153Play the OG Redout, it's better.
>>729345206yeah makes sense. gt/gt2 and nfs porsche unleashed wouldn't come until a few years later to tell non car nerds about group c death machines but everyone knew what a lamborghini was
>>729345412The ridge racer sound team were hardcore. Acid techno/happy hardcore for RR.R and then deep into industrial for rage was made shit. Timed with (primarily) euro dudes popping techno soundtracks it defined a generation on the sly.
>>729346004I've never really thought about it before but if there's one thing PS1 owners had, it was exposure to a LOT of variety in music. Maybe some of it comes with the powers of a disc and CDDA audio, but sometimes the music is still tracker driven anyway like in NFS, but the point is you'd go between a handful of games everyone owned and have such an amount of different genres, it's wild.>finish playing Namco's finest electronic dreams>take disc out>put in THPS2>get Public Enemy and Anthrax>???>grow up with appreciation for all sorts of weird music
I think I enjoy The Crew Motorfest demo. I'm probably going to buy in.
>>729346231Techno was a big push of the ps1 in general because the console was aimed at young adults hitting clubs n shiet and race/techno music was the sound a the time. Destruction derby 2 actually got slammed in reviews because it had a rock/thrash OST and that was not in vogue in 1997.
decide my last week of 2025 /v/
>>729346496it's crazy to think of a time when a tony hawk soundtrack would be considered not in vogue. were they ever? have i actually been the outcast music guy this whole time? fuck.
Wtf bros. I know GTAV isn’t strictly a racing game but I hate that the snowy Christmas time is so comfy because they are eventually going to remove it from the game. AAAAARRRGHHHH
>>729346574THPS2 ost was just the norm for people in the scene but still far removed from normies.
>>729346568NFS Carbon.
>>729346568PORSCHE 2000
I hope the Star Wars speeder racer plays like Fzero or Wipeout
Post them
>found a career mode mode for Asseto Corsa>it's paywalled beyond Patreon faggotryWhat a silly timeline.
>see i have dirt 2 on my steam account>install>play>nostalgia blast of GFWLcan i make a burner email and 'register' or am i fucked
>>729347532
>mfw after watching die hard 1 and 2
>>729337028Yeah Redout 2's a lot of fun. I enjoy the core mechanic of boost being infinite but drawing from heat, and heat drawing from health, so in addition to your racing line there's a tightrope to walk to keep yourself as close to death as possible. Plus you have the ultra boost that recharges and you can stack it all together for ridiculous speed. One of the maps (vidrel) has a straightaway at the end where you can hit >mach 2.The first Redout just had recharging boosts that didn't add heat, so it lacked that tightrope, and then ultra boost was one of many weapons which basically made other weapons pointless. Still a pretty fun game though, both are great paired with some dark dnb or psytrance.
this is an excellent game.
>>729348869but muh hot shot
