It works though, and if it made my experience harder, whatever. I beat the Starscourge Radahn and the Melania-whoever characters, it just took some trial and error. Mostly because it's really, really really hard to cycle items while dodging, so I had to keep my "active items" bar tiny (Basically: An estus and a grease). Though you can long tap to swap back to your primary slot (i.e, the Estus, generally).

There's a good reason why I don't - they never felt right. At friends houses, I would use consoles. Though the latest consoles I played would be the PS2, the original Xbox and the Wii, I suppose. I started with the NES and the Genesis.
But they don't conform to my hands well - they feel wrong. I was basically born with a keyboard. I was playing Command and Conquer and Warcraft 1 as a wee lad, as well as DOOM and all of the DOOM-likes.
But a controller feels wrong. There's no smoothness to it. The sticks are unpleasant. I crave the cold certainty of a mouse, the flexibility and suppleness of a keyboard. Elden Ring has given me difficulties due to it, yes, but Dark Souls 3 was relatively smooth and painless. It worked extremely well on M&B (Except for backstabs - I could never get them to work right. Maybe because I didn't really use the "Lock On" mechanism much).

If they make another Souls/Rings game, I hope that it'll nix the jumping-and-crouching in combat. Maybe some more linearity/metroidvania-like exploration. I found it tiresome to go "Come along, Roach, let us quickly check out #11 of the copy pasted churches for my obligatory Sacred Tear and then go to this fortieth small cave to fight a late game enemy posed as a boss!" while picking up flowers and mushrooms along the way.

Jumping only works with certain weapons.
For those sho don't know, jumping doesnt have i-frames in the traditional sense it just disables the hit box of your characters legs during the jump. The spacing for jumping waterfowl's second flurry is pretty tight so any weapon who's animation has the arms hang below the character's waist will still get clipped by it because the arms hand below where the hit box is otherwise disabled. This is mostly just good for builds that use weapons where the 2H animation holds it over the shoulder like greatswords, greataxes, etc.
Im assuming the people who cite the jumping strategy never actually tried it and just heard about it online.

Depends entirely on your equipment. Some don't see any real benefit until you've hit 71, and then it scales crazy fast up to 80 where it falls off. Every single piece of equipment scales differently, and the letter grade on the weapon is pretty deceptive at that (some C grades scale better than S grades depending on the range of investment you're at).

In the end, stopping at lvl120/150 absolutely is NOT the designers intention, especially when you can far exceed both limits before even finishing the base game.

And stopping STR at 54 is abysmally stupid, because as previously mentioned. scaling is completely different on a weapon by weapon basis, and the letter grade might as well not even exist since they are not anywhere close to being balanced between each other. But even despite that, Quality doesn't even see a meaningful return on investment until you've hit 60/60 in both Str and Dex (and even then it's only a few points shy to just going full 80 in either one by itself). You literally WILL NOT hit your Vigor checks going Quality at lvl120/150.

the real degradation of souls games is bosses getting flashier, more aggressive, and faster means the number of actual viable playstyles are dwindling, with many options just being straight up terrible in pve. If from wants to make flashy bosses, the game itself has to pick up the speed to compensate. Sekiro makes sense for this because you have the parry, and stamina doesn't exist. In the souls games you still move very slow, which means most playstyles tend to be "Dodge until a long enough opening to swing once and repeat" with the difference between builds being what you swing with

Yeah 100% this, Demon and Dark Souls was only considered hard because there was no map or objective marker, and they came out during a period where games were very hand holdy. Yeah O&S and Gwyn were pretty tough, but most action games have a tough mid fight and final boss.
