I know this is a bait thread, but I do feel sorry for zoomers and younger kids. Genuinely, you didn't stand a chance. You were simply born in an era that has been in constant decline, especially in terms of media. As someone almost 40, I got to live through the golden ages of video games, movies and television and got to witness the evolution of video games from simple 2D games to 3D to modern. Your first games were already at the end of the golden age, you just got a tiny taste of it before the true decline of the industry and rot began to set in. Sure, you can replay older games and maybe even enjoy them, but you will never truly understand what it was like to play them at the time they came out, how it made us feel, how the experiences shaped our lives. You will never be able to understand because the only thing you know now is slop, and the scarce few decent games that still get released, but the vast majority of you consume nothing but slop anyways.
