You ain't gonna get proper answers for GoW. It's another one of those games that is impossible to have any good discussion on /v/.
It's more of a real game than the previous one, with decent enough content but falls apart with the story that clearly forced a trilogy into one game and one sequel.
More fun that the first one and boy doesn't sound like a whistle so that's better

The enemies are too tanky on the higher difficulties and you are made of porcelain so it becomes a chore. It's hard sure, but the wrong unenjoyable kind of hard. I rate (the first game) a 4.5/10.

It was alright I guess. Didn't mind the first Atreus section, but the next one with the girl was just too long and dragged. Ending felt kinda underwhelming. Travelling with Atreus and the other was kinda neat. Valhalla was slop, neat throwbacks but a roguelite is not why I play GoW. Overall, I still prefer the older games, this new stuff can be really neat at times, but it just is not GoW to me. Too much of a change in the combat and the camera angle is absolute cheeks. Kratos still seems himself at times but at other times he feels off.

>>729344538I loved 2018 but something about Ragnarok just a felt like a slog. I did every bit of content 2018 had but with Ragnarok by the end I just wanted to get it over with. It's hard to explain why. I guess I just didn't really like the characters and story nearly as much, the Atraeus sections generally weren't fun and dragged on way too long, and the way the game starts screaming puzzle solutions at you 5 seconds after starting them was annoying.

6/10Gameplay is fun, environments are nice, side quests are good. Problem is the story and the music isn't really that memorable except for a few places. The story takes a bigger hit because it should NEVER be as bad as it is. The whole point of Ragnorak is how the world ends and for 95% of the game, the "world-ending event" isn't "world-ending" nor is there really any urge to deal with the world "ending".Also Atreus levels were extremely questionable

In the old games we'd always get these sweeping epic vistas showing off whatever event was going on in the back, like Ares fucking up the city. Having Ragnarok happen and having the camera be focused on Kratos' upper back really undersells the event as all the biggest shit happens BEHIND you, while you just fight the same enemies you've been fighting all game.
