Hornet's skills are wide but shallow. Her tools are (mostly) situational and have a cost attached to them. Knight's spells are fewer but they absolutely shit all over most things in HK. Need a bazillion I frames for some reason? Descending Dark has got you. Want to say fuck you to everything in front of you? Shade Soul is simple but effective. Shade Cloak can make the Knight fucking intangible and it has no cost. Hornet's equivalent would be what? Sharpdart? Which has a Silk Cost. I guess there's pogo invincibility but by that point The Knight is just more efficient

It's not actually the ability progression, it's the fact that Silksong bosses have inflated HP compared to HK bosses, and that Silksong enemies have damage modifiers based on upgrade level instead of a small number of HK enemies having higher HP based on your nail level. It also means you can't cheese those enemies by not upgrading your nail because Silksong damage modifiers apply to each attack's upgrade level individually, plus silk skills scale off needle damage anyway.Thread Storm absolutely kicks the living shit out of every HK soul spell even Abyss Shriek, but because of Silksong's inflated HP you don't notice it.
