Nope. It was one of the most mediocre and bad planned games of all time. The only good thing that came out of this game was the setting for black flag. And still, black flag was a fucking mess outside the naval battles.
Have to disagree, anon. The settlement building essentially went nowhere, and bugged out at its original launch. The ship stuff was okay, but this game actually made me quit the series before Black Flag so I never saw what anons got to do there. The story wasn't very impressive, and the DLC going literal Magical Indian Powers when the main character had been struggling with their identity and parentage was a laugh, apple-induced dream/parallel world or not. OK at best, not good.

It's a mixed bag, I like the Homestead stuff, the more fleshed out assassin recruits, the naval battles (despite being essentially a Black Flag prototype) and the story, but it has probably the worst map in old school AssCreed, the tree parkouring is cool at first until you realize it's way more scripted than doing it on rooftops and most of the time it's the slower traversal option, and the city layouts for parkour pale in comparison to the previous games.
I just miss AC multiplayer

It was always good. The only problem, and a big reason people got filtered, was the 6 hour tutorial. But once the game stops babysitting you and lets you go at your own pace, it's great. The ship combat in 3 is even better than Black Fag, which dumbed it down for normies.

To give context I played Unity a month after launch. Very buggy with some patches. I was actually terrified of Black Flag because the boat sections were absolutely abysmal in AC3. The worst parts of a already bad game and the next game is going to be centered around it. They did end up fixing the boat, thankfully.
