ruined*

>The worst OS they ever made (at the time)
>Paying to use your own internet
>Dogshit games and downgraded PC ports

It did seem like Xbox was on top of the world. Oblivion, CoD 4, Halo 3, Gears (I guess). It was my console of choice during that era to play with my friends, but I always had a soft spot for Nintendo and got a Wii late. And it seems that all that Xbox was was lightning in a bottle. It was just what seemed right for gamer bros who played Halo and CoD on a good controller. It didn't have any good IPs to keep it afloat. Sony had all the Last of Us and Uncharted type stuff a little later to keep them afloat.

Nintendo just won overall, with Sony a close second, and Xbox irrelevant and probably never coming back unless they buy companies

Microsoft could buy Nintendo in 2026 or 2027 and start bringing Nintendo games to Xbox.
>>
>>729347791
I really don't want to see that because I prefer Nintendo, but Nintendo needs to rebrand their image to cater to teenagers and young adults. Their imagery needs to be like it was in the 1990s. The way they feel now is like Disney, but more accurately it just feels like they're tired. Like they're half-assing everything they do, which could come down to lots and lots of old people hovering over the creation process
>>

They introduced achievements, which really fucked up gaming.
>>
>>729347436
Thanks for reminding me of when the gaming industry went to shit
>>
>>729347436
I don't know what half of those things have to do with microsoft. The only good thing they did was save halo from macslop and microsoft arcade. 10 years ago people said microsoft did fuckall for pc gaming. So now it's been 20 years of slop.
>>
>>729347791
Xbox is dead, Xbot, you're never getting Nintendo games, Microsoft is pretty much done with the Xbox experiment.

>The only good thing they did was save halo from macslop
And look where Halo is at now, idiot. Game looked better before Microsoft purchased it.

Very well said.

peak american delusions
xbox was never a thing outside of NA
>>
The PS3's issue wasn't the lack of games, it was the dogshit performance it allowed those games to run at. Otherwise the library and content you found on it was fucking amazing.
>>

>unless they buy companies
Look how well that's been doing for them. Maybe it's just time to hang in the towel. They suck and Valve is the better American company. Gonna be great when Sony also joins Microsoft out the door.

>Introduced Xinput, ruining controllers to this day
>Had no motion controls to assist the impotent dual analog control scheme, yet still brazenly hoovered up full 3D games from PC, despite having no means to play them properly
>Ruined multiple franchises
>Normalized SHIT build quality and QA
>Introduced paid online subscriptions
>Introduced GFWL and normalized matchmaking P2P slop instead of dedicated servers
>Tried to use their market position to normalize paying for updates and micro DLC, which ultimately turned into microtransactions when introduced to an ecosystem that wasn't massively inconvenient
We are still recovering from the devastation of the 360
>>729347928
It's not like all consoles don't cater to preteens and manchildren.
>>
>>729349448
Yeah and there were at least 3 good games that spawned from it. Shit would of died on the mac nobody cared or owned that shit. Studio's don't last forever retard people leave and it turns to slop. You'll understand when you get your first job.
>>
>>729356581
That's because of Bungie, not Microsoft, it would have been better without Microsoft. Microsoft is the main reason Bungie went to shit. They're one of the main reason the entire reason third parties went to shit besides Sony. Both are the reason AAA even exist.
>>
>>729357005
It wouldn't even have been culturally relevant and we wouldn't even be talking about it if it was exclusive to mac dude use your brain. Microsoft is now shit and so it bungie. Nah dude studios just fucking change and they change faster when there is some sort of external and internal friction. Both bungie and microsoft are now shit. Simple AS unc.
>>
>>729347436
Fuck you just reminded me I own a non-steam copy of Fallout 3 that I have to patch GFWL out of every single time I install

Fuck Bethesda
>>
>>729347436
It never did. Xbox fags kept on saying they were the best but Playstation was ALWAYS breathing down your necks and had a different library. You had to actively deny the existence of games to make yourselves feel better when things slowly became more multiplat.
>>
>>729347791
Microsoft couldn't even get Japanese games made lol you were the biggest laughing stock in the JP scene
>>
>>729357449
Good, that shit is the cause of everything going to shit. Sony and Microsoft were cancer because both did not understand video games. Xbots and Snoys don't understand how they both help destroy gaming when they defend both Microsoft's and Sony's bad practices. Microsoft was always shit and Bungie was good before Microsoft slowly drained them with their corporate bullshit. AAA would not exist if Sony and Microsoft weren't throwing their damn money around.
