This time last year, everyone was excited for the reveal of a new 3D Mario soon. A year later: crickets.It's been 8 years since Odyssey. It's pretty much a given at this point, considering the terrible Switch 2 sales, that Nintendo is in deep trouble if they don't pull a rabbit out of a hat with a new 3D Mario.But Nintendo's quality control has declined so much in the last few years (Prime, Echoes, Mario Kart World, etc, are all way below Nintendo's 1990-2020 quality control) that I'm not even excited for the next 3D Mario. It's probably going to be slop.
i'll only be interested in a switch 2 when it has games I want to play. right now there's nothing, to launch a new console and not even have a new mario game is crazy, odyssey came out fucking 9 years ago now.

There were still stinkers (NSMB2, Sticker Star, FE Fates, etc), but the trajectory was a damn sight better than what it was shaping up to be around launch. I think the WiiU being an immediate dud helped the 3DS as well, honestly.
