the time limit feels really restrictive in the beginning but the more you replay it the more you get used to it primarily because the player knows what to do by thenthe real issue is the unskippable in game dialogue that restarts if you dont listen to it fully and wont progress the game until it's fully done

As a zoomer I love how Dead Rising 1 doesn't hold your hand at all and each death becomes a learning experience. Playing this game without YouTube tutorials or hints or anything was refreshing. It's a game that rewards you the more you play it and master it. Where useful weapons spawn, which magazines are good, how to navigate the mall efficiently, how to mix smoothies, how to get little pp bonuses like running on the treadmills or shooting food court plates, learning about item properties such as using the sword to move around the mall in the darkness or the mannequin torso being a one hit kill. DR1 is a classic and one of the best games of that generation, even in spite of its flaws like the shit survivor ai, which you can get around if you are good at the game. Which is why I kind of dislike the true end game. You should be able to save jessie and brad with meta knowledge. The whole game you spend saving every survivor with meta knowledge after failing several times but the most important two die without you being able to do anything about it unless you forgo the main story, and even then they survive in an artificial way. They just stand there the rest of the 3 days, the military doesn't show up, and they just kinda quietly depart, it's an afterthought route. I also think you should be able to save the initial group that die when the zombies first enter the mall in NG+ with some meta shenanigans.
