Currently window shopping for a laptop that will be used for playing mmos(osrs, wow classic, maplestory(classic)), light gaming, doom scrolling and watching movies in bed or when I'm out of town. It is very important that these all run nice a smooth, I'm not interested in spending money on something for a suboptimal experience. Budget is around $2k usd, m5 mbp is what I'm considering the most. Gaming handhelds aren't an option because virtual keyboard isn't optimal for throwing out slurs, thank you!
>>729359228I got an Ideapad 5 14" like 4 years ago, for about $500, and that still meets all my needs.Like you I mostly just doomscroll and play old MMOs, and it does Classic WoW, OSRS, and most indie / ~2010 era games with zero hiccups while being silent. Even played FFXIV well enough.I know the tech market is dire anon, but you still don't need to spend 2k, just get an integrated graphics card on a newer Lenovo Pro and that'll do all lowend gaming perfectly fine for a third the price.
Intel will be revealing panther lake at CES in two weeks
>>729359228lenovo loq seriesdont go for high end gpus, 4050/60 6/8Gb vram amd cpus are far better on laptops and actually lets you use the laptop without power supply for light stuffdont spend much on it, laptop gpus can never perform as good as desktop gpus so the lower end stuff are cost effective remember to plug in when you gaym or do heavy stuff
>>729359228get whatever lenovo legion fits your budget
I've been interested in maybe getting a laptop for the same reason, to plugin to the TV to watch movies/streams and some light MMORPG playing like BDO and FFXIV.I'm clueless about Laptops, but is it true the lenovo are still the best ones to get?
