Live service gaming has ruined multiplayer games. Now every mp game is filled with shitty crossover cosmetics, poor balance and predatory monetization/mechanics designed to make you addicted. I just want to pay 60 euros for a game i play from time to time (Like Titanfall 2) not a long term investment where i have to grind the battlepass and do daily challenges.

Relic is such a dogshit map in TF2. They just ported the same map 1:1 from TF1 without accounting for how sliding makes indoor movement fast and frenetic.

I didn't mind it since I played Scorch, it was pretty fun melting anyone titans trying to crouch into the smaller entrance. Still, it's one of the more boring maps. Best maps were glitch and rise, worst was crash site.

It's no Glitch, but it's fun. Has the same problem of indoor areas being annoying to navigate and underutilised. Sliding around on the sand at the top of the map is cool.
Angel City, Colony, and Homestead were my favourite maps, although that was probably because I was a grapplefag. Fuck it, I might just put on a playlist and boot up the game. It's Friday night where I am, and my Kraber finger is itchy.

Don't do those things then

As someone who doesn't like, or play FPS games, it never made sense to me how such an amazing game like TF2 could just "die".
Like, how does a game that's so good, die to some random FPS games that everyone agrees aren't as good, simply because they're "new".
>>729362704
One of my least favorite maps lmao, but I feel like if you were good enough at the game, you could ace it by sniping and chucking grenades.

The single player story was awesome. It makes me so sad that this kind of stuff is either dead or buried beneath slop.
I gave me the feeling that playing Ratchet and Clank on the Ps2 gave me when I was 10

It's so annoying, like add a couple of maps boom it's basically a new game.
I've never played an FPS where I've felt so good with the movement as with TF2.

Because the dev just turns off the server?

But you can literally just go play TF2 right now.
What I don't understand is why there are people playing 2025 fps that everyone hates instead of TF2

Titanfall 2 vanilla servers are still up, and there's always Northstar. You faggots are just never on.

I still think the 360/ps3 era had the best online games.

Kinda fucking hate the devs for not understanding what s good map is. They're Respawn they're supposed to know. It's like every game the map design gets worse, often because they move away from a simply three lane design but sometimes other reasons. Often the maps are much too cluttered.

Remember when they took away Angel City 24/7 because it was all anyone played? I quit the game for a while after they did that because it was literally the only map I truly liked.

CoD4 I enjoy almost every map, literally every map is decent or amazing.

MW2 is enjoyed like half the maps

And every CoD game and games similar to it after that I hated or felt ambivalent towards every single map.

I don't know how or who optimized this game, but the fact it could run on my POS laptop is amazing.
I spent SO many hours on that game.

I'm not even a big racing game fan and I put at least 100 hours into burnout paradise just driving around with randoms online back in the day

The problem with older fps games is they get sweaty by autists like me who stick with them because they're objectively better games than what's coming out today.
That said it's currently $6CAD on steam right now.
Please buy it.

You'll be able to hold your own once you beat the campaign and understand wallrunning, sliding, and that most guns should be hipfired. That said, you'll still feel outmatched for your first 10 or so games.
