Each city you get three random species with their own bonuses and minuses. Each city can take 15 minutes to an hour depending on the way you play. Once you beat the objective, if you do, you can move deeper on the map to start a new city. You keep doing this until the cycle ends, its measured in years and you can extend it through unlocks. rinse and repeat as you unlock new mechanics, buildings, cornerstone relics, etc. its really a ton of fun if you are the type of person who likes the first couple of hours city builders but get burnt out once you start reaching efficiency as thats usually when a round ends and you get to start a new one
