>release a niche but well received game with a couple asychronous multiplayer systems in it
>decide to make the next game a battle royale
>it flops
>shut it down and retool it into an extraction shooter
>it also flops
>have to announce you're making an offline version of the first game
When are they going to get the message that the playerbase just wants more of what made the first game great, but without the grind bullshittery? Give or take bro-op support.

Fucking finally, couldn't stand the always-online component part of the OG Let it Die and predatory monetization, it's too bad it took them this long to do it but I'll take it if they actually get rid of all the monetization and remove the retarded always-online component entirely.

should I just wait for the offline version instead then?

Wouldn't hurt. The most egregious elements of the current game, clearly influence by it being f2p, is
- limited inventory (although the anniversary event that's ongoing just shat out some premium currency to expand it a decent amount)
- garbage-tier draw rates on reusable equippable buffs
- having to spend coins (drops off everything) to keep going up/down the elevator to reset boss floors so you can grind their precious metals that later equipments are always needing fucking 10+ of to upgrade a single piece of equipment to its next tier

I fully expect them to pull a dick move and have the game be $30, but no express pass access unless you pay another $30. Although in an offline version, the main perks of the pass would just be free elevators and less of a death penalty, especially if you're going BffT/Tengoku content.

It lasted NINE years before any form of "offline/we're shutting it down" style of announcement. If there wasn't a playerbase liking it, it wouldn't have passed the four year mark at best.

What parts in particular? I liked the Hater and TDM systems, although I wish you could actually see what you're up against in TDM other than knowing their rank. Just ends up being a lot of runs where you go in naked to see what the first two fighters are, before deciding to risk your armor durability.

I'd rather hit her with my katana with how many times she shut the door of the nice elevator in my face.
