At most you have a couple devices using ARM instead of x86, but even that is trivially easy to port over compared to back in the day where consoles, Windows PCs and Macs were fundamentally different computing machines.Sony will keep some games tied to the PS5 for a grace period, but eventually they'll get ported to PC because evidently it doesn't hurt their hardware sales and it's a nice chunk of revenue they don't really have a reason to give upNintendo is still fully on board with the exclusive model, but it seems like they'll keep making Switch 1 versions of games when available and anything from your PC to your phone can emulate those. I expect a Switch 2 emulator will take a couple of years but eventually we'll get there. There is no good reason for third party exclusives unless they are nearly fully funded by Sony or Nintendo from an economic sense. We've seen from games like FF16 and Rebirth as well as Death Stranding 2 (1.5m copies is not enough to be profitable) that it's not viable to make a AAA game for one console, even as a timed exclusive. Sony will probably continue to put thier stuff on PC a few years later for thier single player games and day 1 for multiplayer/ live service games. Thier games are too expensive to make without those extra sales. It wouldn't be a surprise to find out for instance that the naughty dog game with the ugly bald chick(?) needs to sell like 8 or 9 million full priced copies to break even if games like Spiderman 2, Concord, GoWR and TLoU2s confirmed budgets were anything to go by. Nintendo could make billions with PC ports, but they don't eat a huge loss on selling hardware, so they think sticking with exclusive games is the way to to, and it has been working great for them financially. I also don't see a decent, comparable to native hardware, emulator for the Switch 2 existing for a long time (~2030 at least) unless there's a major exploit found.Xbox already doesn't do exclusives and since games don't tend to sell on the platform, and there's a tiny install base compared to PS5 (and Switch 2 will likely outsell the Series system's by 2027) that many games will continue to just skip Xbox in favor of PC+PS5 and maybe Switch 2 releases.
