There should be a threshold of negative reviews that makes you ineligible for a refund for a game. Like if you buy a game with over 85% negative reviews then you're stuck with it because who the fuck would pay money for something that bad unless they weren't serious about it in the first place?

That type of mentality led professional reviewers to inflate scores and lie on record to keep their access to the medium. You don't want that for the normal man it would erode all trust over time. You'd see weird behavior like people always giving a game a good review even if its bad and they planned to refund it. The very system used to judge value would break down like it has in structured games journalism.

I feel like the only way this could be manipulated is if an unscrupulous dev/publisher deliberately tanked their game's average score through many fabricated reviews to make it seem like its badness is a meme and baiting people into buying it on that premise.
