This is my favouritest game. I really like the gameplay, the graphics, the music, and the atmosphere and overall vibe this game creates. I really like these cool conspiracy thriller style stories, but unfortunately nobody makes them in videogames. AAA gave up, and all indie immersive sims are all fucking gay.
>>729378156This is one of those franchises that people wish it could have a new game but you just know how different it would be when compared to the previous ones
>>729378156Unironically the most recent Zelda games have been the closest to a modern immersive sim we have gotten, it's fucking wild that Deus Ex is such an abandoned series.
>>729378156>I really like these cool conspiracy thriller style storiesI'd be with you if you were talking about any other entry in the Deus Ex franchise, but MD has one of the most boring plots of any game I've ever played. The most exciting thing that happens is a few platforms at a city train station being blown up - the rest is all just setup for a second act that never happens
I never completed DX because it is too janky/visually unappealing.I love DXHR.I could never take any whining about DXHR being too linear. You're just virtue signaling. DX gameplay was not that good.
>>729378156>AAA gave upThey just reject the project pitches because it's not going to meet sales projections. Therefore even if it eventually does get greenlit you're going to hate it because it had to go through a board of investors and focus group marketing and would eventually have to start appealing to design trends. It's better that the last game doesn't get made since it would surely turn out a mess if there's this much trouble in the pitch phase.
>>729379054>Unironically the most recent Zelda games have been the closest to a modern immersive sim we have gottenThis comment proving that its a meme buzzword again
>>729379102The presentation and style of this game is what I really like. It feels really "mature" in a way that most games don't. I personally don't think the story is as boring as you say it is, my only problem is the abrupt ending, but I see where you're coming from. I think you'd think of the game's narrative better if it had a proper conclusion and slightly better pacing thanks to a proper conclusion.>>729379054Way to miss my point.
>>729379580I'm mostly just comparing the story with the other franchise entries - they're sprawling global conspiracies with profound consequences for humanity. MD is literally nothing more than 'some terrorists blow up a train station as a small foundational element of a bigger scheme' and then we never see any of the bigger scheme because the game ends and that's all you see. Honestly, I'd say Cyberpunk 2077 did the mature writing thing really well for the most part if you do the side content.
>>729380818>Honestly, I'd say Cyberpunk 2077 did the mature writing thing really well for the most part if you do the side content.I can't agree there, honestly. I think at times the game is excessively vulgar for me and/or melodramatic. The "mature" things I'm looking for are far too sporadic in that game. I think Mankind Divided, for all its faults, is at least consistent, both tonally and thematically. I do agree that the game not having a proper resolution is a problem but I try not to blame it on the devs as much as it was a shitty corporate mandate, and I try to appreciate what is there.
>>729378156I really like when he says "It's Jensening time!" Chills. Literal chills.
This and Deus ex are the only good games in the series. Human Resources and Invisible Snore suck ass.
