>>729379037I also have a hard time getting hyped for it and I think it's because of Grace. And it's not because of her being a woman, I had no problem playing as Claire or Jill. It's that her design is in the same vein as Ethans, very modern and uninspired, and is synonymous with the brands attempt at reinventing its horror look. The remakes of 2,3, and 4 are all successful while the reboots 7 and 8 are kind of divisive. RE9 feels like it is trying to bridge two different generations of games that had no problem existing in different areas of an RE gamers brain, one area that prefers the slower, first person horror, and one that likes the goofy, more action oriented side of the past. It just feels like they really want to be seen as a horror franchise, but are scared to go full in with Grace so they are dumping in Leon which is going to cause a massive rift in the tone of the game.
