Only ever played public L4D one time and it was thankfully one where the others and I kicked the rage kicker instead and chilled. That was enough though. Went back to playing only with friends. It's always fascinating hearing about how seriously people take this game from these threads and videos online.
It was always really fucking stupid that L4D never had a singleplayer or practice mode for the undead. People joining a versus round and having no fucking idea how to play hunter or charger or whatever shouldn't be a problem that the game basically encourages to happen.
