Do you think some good game will come out to save you? Why do you think that never happens?
>>729387189>Do you think some good game will come out to save you?Save me from what? Boredom? 4chan saves me from that.
>>729387189the girl of my dreams will suddenly appear at my doorstep once I plat the next game
>>729387650>the girl of my dreams will suddenly appear at my doorstep once I plat the next gameNaw, that won't happen. What will happen is a long life of gaming and then the girl of your dreams. This reality is just for suffering, my dude.
NOTHING is going to save us.I was hoping that Pootin will launch nukes and finally end this miserable world, but apparently him and his people being a complete niggers who robbed his own country (including missiles) was true.
Play Baldur's Gate. It's peak self-insert power fantasy and goes on forever.
>>729391057Which Baldur's Gate do you play? The original?
>>729387189It already did. Fallout 2 was released decades ago and I'm saved.
>>729391724Have you just been playing Fallout 2 since it came out?
>>729387189Are you fucking retarded?
>>729391724I guess I could get into fallslop
Who the fuck thinks there is any saving at this point? It is all about avoiding the 98% of human life that make your day worse.
>>729391770Every year or two, with or without mods. Currently im playing fallout yesterday. I also just love new vegas, stalker and underrail. Fallout 1 had the best atmosphere and feels like a more complete game, but it's also smaller and I play it far less often.
Why would a game "save" me you hopeless consoomer golem. I barely enjoy games anymore tbqh I just keep playing out of some weird habit
>>729392314>It is all about avoiding the 98% of human life that make your day worse. Are you saying 2% of the planet is White, or what does that mean?
>>729392336>I also just love new vegas, stalker and underrail. What is your favourite New Vegas dlc? I think Honest Hearts was the best. Joshua Graham is basically what Caesar thinks he is.
>>729391696Yeah, Baldur's Gate, Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal.I recommend getting some mods as well, just look through gibberlings3 for what you like. For better or worse you don't have a thousand mods like Skyrim but there is a fair amount. I would highly recommend getting at least "BG1 NPC Project" for the first one and "Ascension" for the second one.
>>729394027I already have stuff to play, so I'll pass on Baldur's Gate. Have you played Pillars of Eternity?
>>729387189A good game already “saved” me 5 years ago. I discovered classic Doom after I finished Doom Eternal. Doom 1, Doom 2, Final Doom alone got me through the pandemic. I’m still hooked on megawads. Brutal Doom and Project Brutality are also fun as hell. Specifically this version.https://allfearthesentinel.com/zandronum/wads.php?name=project_brutality_3.0_test_1-21-18.pk3&from=WadArchive
>>729392950Graham is the dlc. And maybe the ranger, father in the caves. I used to dislike it a lot, mostly due to auto leveling enemies. It's fucking absurd that some savages are armed with am rifles. But it still amuses me to no end when I shoot white leg light bringers with fire ammo. It's just, there's so much of nothing in honest hearts. You can get everything and finish it in a couple of hours including visiting every location and tribals are just not an interesting idea. I get it, obsidian really likes the concept of post war tribes, how their way of starting from the clean slate is the only way to the future without repeating same mistakes. But watching tribals grow corn and debate whether red or white bottle cap is better for arrow tip is not for me. I want going to forgotten leaves and uncovering secrets of the old world. That's why dead money left the best impression on me. I can accept and ignore the implications of vending machines existence just not making sense at all, it's the characters and the villa that draw me in still. And it's message fits the tone of the game so well. Yeah I should let go, but I can't. I'm stuck replaying the same games over and over because nothing else gives me the same feeling. What do you think about the other dlcs?
>>729387189if persona 4 couldn’t save me when I was 18 then nothing will save me now that I’m 30
>>729387189I'm playing Icewind Dale 2 right now and I'm having a great time. Don't need newshit games to save me.
>>729387189But I am being saved.1mm a day.
>>729394154Nta. I couldn't get into bg, it was pretty and I understand the appeal of pure vanilla fantasy, but bg1 was so boring and slow. Ever since playing that I absolutely despise anything based on dnd. It should've never been used for video games in any form and old bioware never explored the potential of the world they created. Save thing happened with kotor1, I just can't treat through it. Yet Kotor 2 is one of my favorite rpgs. And pillars are like that compared to anything larian made. Or both pathfinders. If you liked pillars, definitely try tyranny.
>>729394313What is like compared to bg1/2 and planescape? Never player ID, should i?
>>729394523>If you liked pillars, definitely try tyranny.I actually played Tyranny at release, but I didn't finish it. I need to play Pillars of Eternity (they updated it to be turn based), and I also plan on playing Deadfire. I don't really want to add yet another game to my backlog. I have like four games on there.
You guys just embrace the slop, games are not the potential they could be.
>>729394784No, go away
>>729394604It's much easier on the roleplaying and more focused on the combat, basically a series of dungeon crawls. You create the entire party yourself, so there's no party banter but there's still some good class-specific dialogue here and there. If you want something simpler and more direct, yes, it's comfy and the story is pretty interesting. They also have some pretty great tracks.https://youtu.be/aEqDtbC3bL8
>>729394714Deadfire is... Eeh. Gameplay is the same but better, mostly. Naval combat sucks ass, sid meiers pirates had better ship to ship combat. The story and the world did not work for me. I never felt like poe1 needed a sequel at all. But you can punch kraken in the dick, so it's okay.
>>729394957Thank you, I'll try it out once im finished with nwn 1 and 2. I try to not play dnd based games, but some are worth trying.
>>729395079>I never felt like poe1 needed a sequel at allI agree. Pillars of Eternity is already massive, and I guess the devs just loved the world so much they made another game. It's just more to play, I guess. I really appreciate that they went back to a game they made in 2015 and updated it. It gives people a reason to replay the game, and you also bring in new fans. Some guy in the thread is gushing about Baldur's Gate, and Pillars of Eternity is like that game for me, because I think Baldur's Gate (the first two) is too dated.
>>729395160Hell yeah, hope you enjoy.
Pillars of shitBaldur's gay
gaming is just a false promise that if you buy the expensive console or pc that you'll be rewarded with good games but they don't really exist, there's just weird fanboys that gatekeep the industry and it's failings.
we'll just /v/ sass you and that will save us from the truth that we never touched a good game
I guess it's boredom you feel and not deeper suffering that merely a good product would heal.
>>729395328It's not that the world is already big enough, it's the direction the sequel took was just too out of place. So the statue under caed nua suddenly becomes a vessel for a god, it digs itself out, destroys the castle and kills you in the process. But you apparently did such a good job on the first game that gods reincarnate you back in a body and class of your choosing (and everyone just accepts that) and task you with pursuing the statue. Why? Because statue god is now siphoning souls and wants to kill all gods or not whatever, I can't remember because it's tried to be so serious, too serious, it failed hard. I liked doing small tasks, storming pirate castle out of revenge, exploring the world. But main quest was just beyond uninspired. And the world you end up in, is line a fantasy carribean. Magical negroes yo. Again, game tries so hard to be different, it becomes unappealing. When you accept it and focus on fights more, the game becomes fun.
I can't help but blame gamers for the sorry state of the industry, the talent is there the technology but there are no good games still.
>>729396025>When you accept it and focus on fights more, the game becomes fun.Yeah, absolutely. I think it's fine to play stuff just for the combat or gameplay. Look at this game I played that doesn't even have a story. Maybe I just play RPGs to hit shit with a sword.
>>729396025Forgot to add, sequel does this awful shit so many other RPGs do these days, it makes you a secondary character. Three main hero is the statue and his conflict with other gods. You are nothing more than plot device. When dead money pulled this on me I liked it, because it played on my habits as a player, and punished me for hastily choosing bracketed options before thinking. But it was this one small part of a small optional story that still reminds me: new vegas is full of other characters with their own lives and stories, not just npcs that exist so you can be a hero. And it's fine. Deadfire and cp77 make this the whole game. Not fun to play
Death Stranding, embrace loneliness.
>>729396235I might be autistic, but I played dota2 for the story. More precisely, for the little interactions between characters, every new match saw my opponent on the l lane and thought how that works with their backstories. Hearing kunnka and tides banter is still hilarious. But I grew tired of this to quickly. And deadfire is not that long to grow tired the same way
>>729396418>le death strandinggtfo
>>729396583>I played dota2 for the story. More precisely, for the little interactions between characters, every new match saw my opponent on the l lane and thought how that works with their backstories.I've never actually heard that, so thanks for telling me. I played Dota 2 just to fight other people. I felt like I was fighting for something, but in the end the conflict was pointless. The only thing I really gained from playing Dota all my life was just knowledge on how the game works, and that lets me watch Dota tournaments on Youtube. It both was and wasn't a giant waste of time.
everyone wants to see what took gta 6 so long. i think it's going to sell impressively initially but get panned, but fortunately for games now, they can release dlc later that will raise review scores
>>729397216seems like there would be better things than gta at this point in time, it's just odd.
>>729397016If you want to know how vast my knowledge of pointless shit is, I can explain what's happening in this screenshot. There's a green dragon - it's DK. It's a mid DK, and I know it's mid because Chira Junior is Mid on Yandex. The fact that he's green means he's corrosive (the armour reducing facet), which also causes all your abilities to do physical. I know all this stuff because I played Dota, but it's all worthless information. It's only useful if someone wants to watch Dota.
>>729387189I don't need a video game to "save" me because Jesus Christ has already done that through His sacrifice on the Cross for all of us.I am saved by Him through faith in Him and the work He has already done for as so that we are granted Victory through our one and only True God, Jesus Christ.
SAVE ME FROM MYSELF
>>729396792Pleb
>>729387189Heh, seems I am not the only one that thinks this way. I always thought something might happen or I would play a game so good it would open my eyes and I would be finally able to enjoy my lifeBut that was kind of dumb. It wouldnt be balanced if everyone was normal and happy. Some people arent meant to be and I was one of them. Thread theme:https://youtu.be/ujrn-yfo8Ts
>>729397690>It wouldnt be balanced if everyone was normal and happyNo, it wouldn't be balanced, because happiness is zero sum. Someone is rich; Why can't you be rich? It's because that money would have to come from somewhere, and the rich people aren't going to give you money. That's why not everyone is happy. It's kind of by design.
>>729387189>Do you think some good game will come out to save you?I own a ton of those games actually

>>729387189Will a video game undo the last 15 years and give me a second chance to make things right this time? besides all the things i liked have been turned by the woke mindvirus. Latest was kcd2 it was like a stab in the heart, goddamn that kike vavra.
