Would you consider them Boomer Shooters? If not, what would you classify them as?

Who the fuck used guns at any point? Infact, why were blasters even in these games?
The whole game is a complex lightsaber simulator; but for some reason they added like 20 different guns.

Saber combat and the force is what made these memorable. Other weapons felt quite underwhelming, but I liked that you could repel some projectiles using force push.
Personally, I really liked the base game's siege mode even if it was a balance mess, every map had its cool little tricks, I remember using Mind Trick to infiltrate deep inside the defenders' base in siege Hoth and destroying their inner defenses while the defenders scrambled to figure out why they were getting all these notifications that their base was under attack.

For its better melee combat alone it is part of the melee slasher genre, perhaps even one of its founders of the genre chivalry/mordhau and mount&blade overlap with it

Boomer shooters are anything that resembles Doom, so no.

>Academy
definitely not
>Outcast
it is much more gun oriented, especially early on, but it's still not quite the same thing
I don't know, is it just vague action adventure?

They're still good for fighting droids, mechs and turrets that are otherwise difficult to get into melee range against. In the late game you have the DEMP which is comically powerful against mechanical enemies in general.
I think Academy did a much worse job at keeping the guns useful.

yeah they are basically star wars themed quake but it was also a time when that kind of design was being replaced with more realistic and scaled locations with a bunch more scripting and restricted mission design
