i have no idea what you're trying to say
The median tells a much darker story than the mean.
>>729402051>le forced poopdickschizo maymayshut the fuck up unfunny faggot
Most people don't have the time or care to play more than one character, the amount of bullshit chores you have to do to remain competitive and able to play the fun content (raids) is INSANE.
yeah? I leveled to 60 and quit because the fun part ends there
>>729402959last i played you needed 3x easy m+ for the best gear in the game, it was fucking stupid because it was so much easier than raiding
>>729402959How does this make you feel? What does this say objectively?
>>729403453>how does this make you feelmake me feel? I don't really care, I stopped really playing main wow with the release of tww, first expansion I haven't bought day 1 since lich king, and I still don't own it, but my friends who do still play retail tell me very regularly how upset they are at the bullshit, how they feel like the suffocating amount of bullshit they have to cut through makes them uninterested in trying anything new.>what does it say objectivelyit says that they're making the game for the people who spend hours and hours on it every single day. And that's okay, if that's what they want to do, they can. I just won't be in it.I think the dwindling sub numbers but higher player activity speak in favor of their decisions. I think losing china for a while there really hurt them and scared them into releasing some decent content based on ideas they've probably got in their break in case of emergency vault. But that's either dried up or they're doing okay enough again. The storyline reset hurt them, this is just objective fact, lots of people hate the new story, they loathe the way the old story ended, and many many many people quit over it and will NEVER return. So they're courting the people they have left, new player acquisition was a hilarious part of dragonflight's marketing strategy, I'm sure most people remember those awful fucking tiktok ads.Their existing userbase are the ones that still buy shit from the store, too, and despite what people say signs show that the store is doing just as well as ever.WoW is in a worse spot than it was in it's heyday, but it's recovered a SHIT TON throughout the course of tww. I think they've taken some feedback and have managed to hold tight the people still playing, even if they bitch. But not for me, I just don't care anymore until they lower the efficiencyfaggotry, but that's the way all gaming is going so I'm clearly not the market anymore.
>>729401816when you get to 60 on classic you've beaten the game. Most people arent going to beat a game that long twice, let alone 13 times
>>729401816Have you considered the fact that people may simply not enjoy, or have no interest in other classes?
OP is paid to post these dailies because jeets are too low IQ to even make games lmao
>>729404062What do you think they should do to appeal to everybody? It's obviously possible; WoW used to have 12M subscribers.>>729406881I think the article is talking about retail.https://www.icy-veins.com/wow/news/what-if-wow-quietly-revealed-a-9-million-subscriber-number/.
>>729402906buy a fucking ad you blizzshill tranny loser
>>729406881>when you get to 60 on classic you've beaten the gameYou've seen everything good Classic has to offer by like level 55, except for maybe an UBRS run but the attunement is fucking torture it's not worth it.
>>729407347>it's possiblenot anymorethat's the thing. They used to have 12m subscribers, when gaming was a more all-encompassing thing you did, you sat down and played a game, you didn't multitask NEAR as much. Nowadays a game is something you more often just have up in the background or multitask with youtube or netflix or whatever.I don't think it's possible now. Being totally wholly honest, I don't think it's feasible in any way. No game is pulling those numbers anymore for more than a couple months at a time, usually around an expansion. What would appeal to me doesn't exist anymore. There's no viable way to force people to socialize ingame, and lock down game information down to prevent people from making wikis detailing every frame of data and info before it hits live servers. That's the only way I'd get invested in a new MMO, but instead people hop on a brand new game expecting you to know everything there is to know from network tests and betas and other shit that youtubers conveniently get access to, to shill the game and also dissect it all so everyone can win all the time and never have a learning experience. It's so antithetical to the way I want games to be, skillful, but also allowing for failure and triumph. When everything's boiled down to a fucking paragraph text it sucks, and you WILL get people who ragequit if you don't read up on it ahead of time, ff14 and wow are both filled with faggots like that for any sort of endgame c ontent.
>>729407727I think sandbox servers would, if they advertised them, have subs back up again, maybe even higher. Gathering, crafting, and trading, ideally with full equipment trading, would allow people to live in the world, and piecemeal their progression while doing much different activities than world quests, M+, and raiding.I don't think botting and RMT are valid criticisms when we could actually have a thriving economy. Mining, blacksmithing, enchanting ... Roleplay and things to do are some of the top reasons for retention -- reasons to log in every day.
>>729408154If I'm being honest RMT and botting have existed since always. They're more advanced now but they have ALWAYS been there. They cause issues but the issues can and are regularly curbed by ACTIVE, CONTINUOUS moderator presence. When the moderators turn a blind eye (as they do in wow/runescape/maplestory/ff/etc) the bots get to dictate and crash the entire economy, and it's very difficult to recover from that without brand new resources.I like the idea of a sandbox server. But I don't trust blizz to moderate it, I don't trust players to utilize it, and I expect it to become something that, much like ironman in runescape, turns into "every boss just drops resources and materials so you don't have to engage with the world or compete with bots"
>>729408578The economy would have to have good sinks, probably materials durability, but a sandbox obviously has to be possible.
>>729409519No amount of tools they add to it to give players more agency and control will change that bots will stomp all over it and chinks too, unless policed. That's what killed UO.
How did the French manage to make GOTY and the best MMORPG of 2025?
>>729410167By having to take multiple years to get anything outI enjoy how /v/ completely assblasted their ideas about wakfu's ingame economy and forced them to reset for official launch. one of my favorite moments on this shitheap.
>>729409589For every bot, there are 100 or more people that need repairs of various types, plus consumables. People like to follow the user agreement as if it's law.
Bump.
I wish there was a game like Guild Wars but with Wildstar/modern WoW combat and instead of henchmen you could hire out other players as NPCs if they were offline. Also, you could do jobs in game while you are not playing. Basically your character would become an NPC while you are not there. Gatchas already do something similar if you think about it.
Why are they allowing generals on /v/ now???

>>729413465Just include botting with the game. Make a real money auction house. Let everyone get rich as long as they can produce costly items.
i just play runescape 3 ironman its the only mmo i even enjoy. osrs is fucking stupid dont @ me stupid fucking meme sailing ruined the game thanks reddit
>>729401816Considering the cost to raid Naxxramas who can afford to raid on multiple chars without buying gold?
>>729416909I don't think a real argument exists against included botting and a real money auction house. Just set the $/hr. to minimum wage and take 10%.>>729416938>sailing ruined the gameHow?
>>729417064Again, the statistic is from retail.
>>729417064you need a bot farm>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbbefKKti40
>>729417067included botting tends to do make games look like mobile slop with autoquesting and stuff. Also it's usually very low efficiency so they can sell you better efficiency, which, in turn, just turns people to scripts that are better than the paid shit anyway lmao.RMAH are great though, there IS no excuse against besides chinks or whales manipulating the whole thing, but that already happens in single track MMOs like maplestory where one group of people owns 95% of the accounts clearing content, and no one seems to mind.I made a good few hundred dollars off the diablo 3 RMAH when it was around, and I'd kill for another game to do it that way. But I don't think they will because of the legislative nightmare it would be, we're in the middle of the WORLD trying to adopt digital currency as a legitimate measure of value and worth, adding games into the mix is tough. Korea has it right, but they also tie their real life identities to accounts in most cases so it's way easier to track.
>>729417179Can't say I know much about retail but considering the level grind is non existent there I'd just say its because of similar reasons surely? Or at least just time constraints for the average person. Doing the same content multiple times a week for hours probably gets tiresome.
>>729417569A lot of people would like a real money auction house. Making money allows people to not have jobs.>>729417584I imagine most people don't like doing instanced content all the time. They should really allow professions to make people feel like they're living in a world. You have to make the economy and the world alive, or it causes disconnect, a lack of investment, etc.
Do we really need the grind?
>>729418992I say no leveling is the better option. The statistic speaks for itself.
>>729419129So you're saying leveling is the better option? Yeah that's probably right, as leveling isn't really grind. Maybe the whole game should be all about leveling instead, endamge needs to go I say. Thanks anon, you solved my problem.
>>729402051Fpbp
>>729401816bring back mmos so sick of social media and discord
>>729419243Obviously not. People should be playing any class and profession they want.

>theres no groups at my level so im just logged out for the past 2 days trying to conserve my double xp buffit wasn't supposed to be like this
>>729419243>leveling isn't really grind>The whole game should be grinding mobs and questing (maybe the occasional dungeon).LMAO. You already only have, like, 15% of people making it to 25.
I'm getting ready for the steam machine and made a final fantasy account that has the free trial for both 14 and 11. Literally can't run 14 on this old outdated alienware so been playing 11.
>>729420762>steam machineWhen does that thing come out?
I think sandboxes are the only way to keep players happy and satisfied.
