Retro style , good pixel art, neat mechanics where you have up to 8 party members and 4 of them ar active, and you can rotate the others on reserve in as a normal ability on any turn etc. I've got a bunch of other suggestions, but check out the devs first/earlier major title >Shadows of Adamas it stands on its own; its less complex and ambitious as the many different vignettes that come together in Quartet but its still well worth it and it has a great little expansion too and an oldfag strategy guide in the Complete Edition.

Also, she apparently got a few negative reviews (one talks about the teen worldview being too focused on sex and how there was no option to simply have her awake as an asexual or some shit instead ) for not making it a LGBT story of discovery and thus showed a 'pessimistic' world or some such and I think she deserves some sales in the face of that if the game otherwise is of interest to you. The legitimate criticisms about like..game design stuff like being too easy to miss important stuff in a point-and-click or needing a guide seems like first game growing pains but otherwise not an issue

Takes place in a Howard / Lovecraft inspired world where you're a bunch of characters going to close the Atlantian gates of Abathor to keep evil things from fucking up the world after the hubris of man let them out. Up to 4 players at a time, good boss fights, each character is different and has different abilities (playing as not-Conan your first time is probably easiest as his dodge/roll has invincibility frames , but others like the Valkyrie do not but have a shield that blocks projectiles and other attacks etc and there are items you can use to get a little boost. Note the game has tons of levels but I HIGHLY suggest you start playing on the Heroic mode which is the harder of the two default available modes - it has limited continues, saves at certain points etc.. but if you complete it it unlocks the Epic mode which not only is harder in several ways has EXTRA LEVELS AND A NEW ENDING which is something I always love to see if you're asking me to play a game again. If it didn't have too many reviews I'd say pick up the Bloodstained Curse of the Moon and CotM 2 games (especially the latter, but play the first one er..first) as they also have this mechanic where thjings differ on repeat. Abathor is great though, the aesthetic, gameplay, themes etc.. are all exactly on point
