The problem you face is the same as most of the disingenuous retards on this site: you're only focusing on AAA slop or whatever the media tells you to focus on. If you actually sift through new releases yourself, you'll find a lot of good shit out there. Yes, that does mean it's probably going to be indie, but AAA has fallen so low in the last couple generations that you have an even harder time finding a good game from them than throwing a dart at all the indies that came out within the month.
