I'm going to sound like a switch anti but I didn't find punching dirt to be engaging. The best parts were when you had to warp to different areas and do little challenges almost like mario sunshine but not really. Most of the game is monotonous

The punching is the worst part, but the game is still good in spite of it.

I agree, the digging is interesting but it allows you to bypass too many challenges in the world. The shrines are more streamlined and fun because you're forced to interact with the challenges there in a meaningful way other than "lol dig around it" or "elephant goes brrrrrr".

I still liked it quite a bit though.

using kong bananza and spamming y with the roll is what made the punching fun. the rest of the game is far better, though, i agree.

Pretty much this. On my second playthrough I realized that the game quickly stops rewarding you for mindlessly digging and you are either forced to buy maps or max out your sonar.
I also agree that the challenge ruins are kino and probably the best part of the game.

>/v/ can’t afford emerald rush and will never experience the greatest high score autism chase of the century
Sayonara suckers

I agree. 90% of what I remember in DK Bananza is just seeing something on sonar and punching dirt until I reached it. The game is not memorable at all and I haven't had any urge to replay it unlike Mario Odyssey.

It isn't until the Groove Layer and Feast Layer that it actually starts to feel like a real videogame and then it's over

I bought it and its definitely the best part of the game but a game, that requires paid DLC to become good is a failure

It's insane how many anons have claimed this is Nintendo's best game yet. Reeks of sweet lemons to me (the opposite of sour grapes).

It’s even more insane that many of them thought it should have won GotY

I just played the demo. Is the whole game really just punch/break shit and get shinies over and over and over again? This is a fucking autism festival of a video game.
