It's an ability that gives you a huge boost at the start of the race. You have Taking the Lead which can trigger it, functions similarly to groundwork, so keep using bourbon wit. You want that ability for sure. You have focus/concentration which also works as an ability to trigger groundwork. That's 2/3 abilities needed. Now you just need a green ability for the course. This could be left/right handed, firm conditions, front savvy etc. That's all you need to trigger it. For power, you'll want over 800, probably more like 900+. Below that and their acceleration is too weak so they'll get passed. You have good wit, but you could wit max even more. This is why people like to borrow fine motion as a wit card because she's that strong and gives you strong greens like right-handed, fall runner. Lastly I'd sacrifice professor of curvature and go for more generic mid race abilities. Corner and straight abilities, fast-paced good, tail held high.Unrestrained is recommended to have, so I would keep that. All in all, you're not missing that many ingredients but you MUST have groundwork and angling.If you struggle to get groundwork via inspiration, than you can get it guaranteed from Smart Falcon's card, but it's not the strongest power card so that's a compromise usually.

For Scorpio practice we've had days where Suzukas will win over half of the rooms, and sometimes with multiple entered per room and still winning. So if you bring Riko (gold straight accel is strong gambling skill) it's possible you end up having too much stamina to ever trigger her unique. Or if you build guts because guts build is viable in theory again you can't activate her unique.I know my Akebono who ended up with 500 stamina and 500 guts due to Riko hardly ever fires her unique. Akebono's unique gets buffed at some point but I don't know when.
