being able to change class at any time is fucking awesome. should be a feature in way more games. this game is over 30 years old and it still might have the best class system
>>729414264The class system is really basic and was done better in later games. However, I agree that class systems are based and should be in way more RPGs.
Dimensions had my preference for the FF class system with hot swapping. 3 is also very cool but the way the DS remake handled it with all the nerfs was stupid as shit.Classes in general are very cool, it's a shame more games don't have class choices for runs, it seems like classes became some sort of mmo thing.
>>729414264Yes, but multi-classing (like in D&D) is retarded
paradox did it better
>>729414264I agree. It's because of that, the music and difficulty I keep coming back to this game. I can basically beat all of FF6 without dying and getting a max file in 30 hours, but this game I will die dozens and dozens of times. >boss kicks your ass>know what to do to win>change class>barely win >repeat
>>729414264There's no paladin nor dark knight tho, what mod is that?
If FFT and sequels didn't have the RETARDED idea to have temporary classes permanently change your levelup stats, it would have had a better class system than this. Unfortunately it did, and so is saddled with the horseshit of every level spent outside Ninja making your character worse. And god fucking help you if you gained too many levels as Bard, better restart your save if that happens. Atrocious anti-experimentation design decision.
>>729415212Just a poorly balanced game in general. Half the classes are useless and a few break the game in half. Almost everything else about it is great so I can forgive it, but "encouraging experimentation" is definitely not a strong point.
