was november 2004 the craziest month in gaming?
>>729414540Western civilization peaked in 2004.
>>729414540Imagine how good EverQuest 2 would have been if they used the budget on making the game instead of sending it all to Christopher Lee for a few voice lines
That's a good ass lineup. It's possible that something in '98 tops that but this is definitely near the peak.
>>729414540I feel like games were consistently good from the mid 90s up until Skyrim and after that it was progressively longer devtimes, genre shrinkage, microtransactions, live services and woke propaganda. Actually the decline of gaming mirrors the 2008 financial crisis and Blackrock taking over everything as an activist investor
>>729414904Blackrock only started using its purchases to push social agendas after Skyrim released, around 2012
>>729414540Just about every genre of gaming that you know and love was invented in 1996
>>729415051Yeah? So what
>>729414904>up until SkyrimI think that's coincidental since 2007 was a year of radiant highs and bad omens, the latter of which took until 2010-2011 for the residual effects to start becoming harder to not notice. I don't think it was a flipped switch situation so much as a slow onset of rot, and the stink just happened to become more prevalent post-Skyrim.
