>most of the game's systems are incredibly shallow
>game is all about playing your way, but barely reacts to any of it
>play Morrowind
>here's a bunch of quests where you basically only persuade or kill people
>both things are horrendously rooted in heavy RNG
>all set in a world that's 90% slag and swamp

I'm reluctant to give SS2 a shot if these games are its peers

I agree those three are overrated. My favorite from that era is Thief 1 and 2 (made by same devs as System Shock).
