Is it just me, or was Allyson supposed to have a bigger role? RE5 was initially a single-player experience. Sheva was a local guerrilla rebel and a reluctant ally, similar to Ada in RE4. Perhaps Allyson was meant to be similar to Ashley: a civilian rescued by Chris who, with nowhere else to go, is forced to follow him on his mission against Wesker.
Maybe

>>729415169Could be. Same thing with the villagers in RE8, things got switched up mid-development so they might as well kill the character or something to that effect.

>>729416538I mean it's a bit obvious why the changed it in RE5. For outsiders, the game would've basically been about a white guy slaughtering hordes of "majinis" in order to protect the embodiment of the female Aryan ideal. But let's be real. Not only would normies have accused the game of turbo-racism. Even the fans themselves might have accused Chris of being mentally ill for letting a fertile young teenager join his mission. But I don't know. As cartoonish and nonsecial as this version might have been, I still wish we got it. Sheva's role as a mere partner felt a bit forced. Rebel Sheva seemed to have more of a personality, on top of an actual beef with Irving.Regarding RE8, I have no idea why they nerfed the villagers so much. I was hoping for Ethan to teach them how to defend themselves like Ash did in Army of Datkness. What a waste of potential. Same goes for Allyson.
