You just don’t want to be the first person to do it. All the publishers are waiting,” he says.>Who can break the ceiling without paying the reputational cost? Reisdorf points to Grand Theft Auto VI: “could do it” and still be a smash hit, because “it will be quality” and “you get what you pay for.” In his view, GTA Online and its infrastructure (servers, continuous operation, ongoing costs) illustrate why a bestseller can push the envelope without losing traction. And he warns of the domino effect: “Once you do it once, and stick a $100 price tag on your game, it’s just going to go up across the industry. Other games will follow.”You WILL pay 100USD for a video game, and you will be happy.
>skinnerbox for retarded children is pushing the envelopeUh huh.
>>729416256They can do as they wish, they already know the millions of impulsive, easily swayed, hivemind normalfags who overran this hobby decades ago will buy it. They even got the mobile generations eating up the MTX.I'll just stick to my humble 100+ game backlog and occasional game under $20 sale because I like to live a simple life free of MTX, gacha, GaaS, FoMO and other money making or limited time bullshittery.
theres a shitton of 100+ games already, dlc planned for months before release dates are out of control.
Look, you can price it $200 for all I care. I’m just… not gonna buy it is all!
Currently GTA6 being $100 might be a fucking terrible idea barely anyone can even afford shit. The smarter idea would be to charge at the current market price and stuff it full of microtransactions (which they would've done anyway)
>>729416256This is a really stupid thing to say about GTA 6 of all things because it's not even on Nintendo like I'm not gonna pay for a game that's late. It's not like most even gives a shit about the online mode either, people wanna play the campaign. If it's late i'll pirate it on pc
>>729419550Yeah $100 two years ago would've worked but who the fuck is going to have $100 next year?
>it will be qualityLol sure jeet.Let's say that's true for a minute let's pretend somehow it isn't just GTA 3 with worse writing and updated grsphics likr always, it genuinely has a better story than Max Payne or Red Dead... GTA 6 and Half Life 3 would still be the only gsmes in history anyone would pay $100 opening day.
