Akihiro Hino from Level 5(The same level 5 that delayed pretty much all their games by a year or two, Fantasy Life, Inazuma and all that shit)

Its over bros..

Falcom also said AI will reduce dev time too..

>First, I believe many game companies today are already incorporating AI into their development processes to improve efficiency - it's just a matter of whether they publicly disclose it or not. That said, the claim that Level-5 is having AI write 80%-90% of its program code is a big misunderstanding. What actually happened is that there's an unannounced title with an AI theme, and one of the programmers mentioned that, for that project specifically, they are intentionally using AI to write code as well. That example was shared in the context of discussing what the future might hold, and the story got blown out of proportion. If we really could create 80%-90% of our code with AI and still make a functioning game, we'd be incredibly sought after in the AI community; but we're not there yet.
>However, it's also true that AI is helping devs achieve significant time savings that shouldn't be underestimated, which I think has the potential to reshape common practices in game development. The current norm of taking 5-10 years to develop AAA games that players want could shift toward a world where we can release such games every 2 years.

AI is nice as a programmer as it's like Stack Overflow where you can get an instant answer to a very specific problem that's affecting you (not something vaguely similar, which was common with normal Stack Overflow). It makes sense it'd reduce dev time.

It's amazing how you can put something into any search engine like Google or, as you say, Stack Overflow, and get no useful results whatsoever, just stuff that's vaguely similar. Then you put it into an LLM and get precisely the correct answer. Transformer models are just unbelievably good at understanding exactly what you are asking for, even for very complicated prompts consisting of thousands or more of tokens given the right number of parameters

Real fans will continue to play the games and perhaps contemplate that the issue is with our socio-economic systems not accounting for the impact of automation, while Bluesky fake leftists will cope by writing fanfiction about hacking datacentres despite the closest they've ever done to that being to fuck with no-budget indie projects and people using local AI to make cartoon porn

A statement by a game developer has more credibility than a screen capture of an arstechnica article about a study (which study? Where's the methodology?) written by some churnalist terrified that his slop will be replaced
>>
All these devs are gonna end up wondering why nobody is buying their games a couple of years from now, and it's not because people are anti-AI, but because nobody can afford a gaming PC anymore because of increasing AI usage.

Persona after 3 is already AI generated, there won't be much of a difference.

They just released a soccer game and it did well. They've been talking about how they used AI since 2023.

they can say all they want
now its time to put their money where their mouth is
tell us how much time AI will save them, and see if they deliver it

>>729419046
you won't even notice it was ai, just like e33 or arc raiders or whatever
you'll play it all the same

Falcom games run on a fucking potato
Eastern devs don't have this issue where you need the top end of top end PC to run their games. Stellar Blade needs a RTX 3080 to max out settings, optimization complainers are complaining about a westernslop issue.
