Just got Wrath of the Righteous for cheap off the steam sale and there's a fuck ton of archetypes, what's a good fun one for a first playthrough?

Paladin is good right away and gets better as you go. The whole story is about a crusade against demons, which all your feats and spells have bonuses against. You have a lot of options in combat and it's thematically satisfying. Angel is a natural progression and is also very strong.
Cleric (or other full divine caster) Angel route probably the best experience.Also, if you want for combat to be very stupid then slap yourself with size increase buffs, use a longer range 2-handed melee weapon and get the Lunge feat and mount. Your melee range will be 30 feet.
Sounds like you really have to cheese your way through this game huh. What a shame.
>>729422384Not exactly. It's more like that the combat is poorly balanced in general. Encounters are rarely actually designed and more just slapped onto a map. There's only a couple of fights that I would say you actively have to cheese. There's an optional fight with a monster called 'Playful Darkness' which is just an enemy with massively, massively inflated stat numbers. 1000 hp, a ton of permanent buffs it has for no reason, 7 attacks per round at +70 which all deal over 50 damage eat, immune to a ton of things etc., and is just a really fucking lazily constructed encounter. Something like that you can't actually *not* cheese because there's actually no way to not cheese it.

Merge your Spellbook at the end of Act 3, and then spam Bolt of the Justice to shitstomp on every enemy in the game, all while having every single one of your buffs last for 24 hours (even your per a round spells after you Caster Level 25)Azata: Either pick a martial and grab the mythic super powers that buff your melee capabilities, or, go for a DC Caster (basically a caster that specializes in crowd control) and pick up the mythic abilities like Zippy Magic, Best Jokes, and Favorable MagicTrickster: Any martial, just make sure you grab improved critical and the mythic improved critical featsDemon: Kineticist (fire + earth deadly earth build and then grab Aspect of Kalavakus, see my webm for a demonstration) or a melee charge build (ideally with Instinctual Warrior, Primalist, or Cavalier and then grab Aspect of Kalavakus and Mythic Charge) Lich: Sorcerer or Wizard and then merge your spellbook at the end of Act 2. IMO, go with either Angel or Demon for your first run. They have the most content. Do be warned, you HAVE to be evil if you stay as a Demon in Act 5.

My first playthrough was as a summoner on core difficulty and it was a god awful experience since I had to spam the battle field with summons that did fuck all on their turn and just tanked hits so the rest of my party could do something. Then I played a martial Inquisitor with a pet and had a much better experience.
