It just feels pointless spending an hour memorizing a boss's moveset and timings just to do one or two attacks during an opening that will take a little bit of the boss's health, rinse and repeat this process 20 times during a fight. People say this is satisfactory because you overcame a challenge, but why should I feel any satisfaction exactly? This doesn’t make me better at the game because the next boss will have completely different moveset, timings and openings, it won't make me better online since fighting against a real player is completely different from fighting against another human being. Honestly, at this point, I'd rather spend that time playing a fighting game since it has deeper combat and beating actual people gives me much more satisfaction than beating an overpowered AI designed to aggressively destroy you. Don’t get me wrong, the exploration and the sense of adventure in these games is amazing and definitely give that "satisfaction" people talk about, but the bosses are just outright frustrating 90% of the time, they take so much away from the whole experience that I almost wish the game was just the open world and the dungeons.

Even when you are on the defensive you are still staggering the boss but it doesn't replace the Soulslike combat like Sekiro does. Unfortunately that game is like 6 hours long whereas Elden Ring is massive.

The bosses will give new players enough trouble to stonewall their progress but if you are actually good enough to beat the bosses in a few tries then yeah it's a short game, probably shorter than Dark Souls 1.

I just realize halfway through how pointless it all felt, this is a singleplayer game, the "skill" you're gonna develop memorizing bosses' movesets and timings won't transfer anywhere, they won't mean anything as soon as you boot up another game, I think I'll just start using Mimic Tear to be done with the remaining bosses of this DLC as soon as possible.
