It will be talked about for at least the next 20 years whether you like it or not.
It won't be remembered in a month. That won't stop the chinese bots from making it seem more popular than it is. They still run bots on Wukong and BG3.
>>729419536"that french JRPG" is unique enough to be remembered a lot more than some slop like "remember me"

>>729429107Their mother finding the Canvas even after Clea told Alicia she hid in the best possible place is evidence enough that for as long as the Canvas exists one of the painters is going to be fucking with it. It's too important to Alicia and Aline as a way to smother their grief.IF and it's a pretty massive IF, Aline and Alicia could work through their trauma over losing Verso and becoming a burn victim in Alicias case then the Canvas might be able to continue but that's not a risk Renoir or Clea are willing to take.
>>729429245She calls him brother before that. Even when Verso was visibly not hers, she'd already lost her mind. She's a teenager that fucked up, got her brother killed, and broke her family, AND has a magical method of escaping that guilt. Can't blame her for being crazy, can definitely laugh at maellefags who bend over backwards to say she's not.>>729429225There's no headcanon in anything I've said. The city remains ruined, except the opera house that she fixed, and she confused painted verso for her real brother. You're not supposed to justify anything anyways, and details are left vague on purpose, so the player can interpret them.
>>729429107>Lumiere can live without being their gods' playthings. You mean sciel and lune can live the rest of their natural lives? Lumiere is dead by the end of the game, it would require a painter that cares to fix it for it to live on. The only one willing is perhaps Aline, and if you let her have the chroma again she's 100% never coming out.
>>729429347>There's no headcanon in anything I've said.except there is>You're not supposed to justify anything anyways, and details are left vague on purpose, so the player can interpret them.OkayGenocide is wrong, Aline's too weakened to go back into the painting long enough for Clea and Renoir to talk her down, Maelle is a shitty paintress too lost in her dream world to do anything against Renoir and Clea both coming in and dragging her out

>>729429476She risked her life going in at all, just to make sure Renoir could be defeated and the canvas could be saved. If she were willing to cope with her grief outside of the canvas, she would've done so. She can only be convinced to NOT commit suicide by painting after the canvas is destroyed.
>>729429523goddammiti laughed
My take is that Aline is the villain for drawing actual humans in Verso's collection of funny brush people. There would be no dilemma if the canvas remained as just kid scribbles.
>>729429623it would still be really fucked upthe gestrals did nothing wrong

I really liked that one spot in the game where they tried really hard to kill those three powerful ghost-like nevrons and made a bridge out of their corpses so eventually someone could go over and avenge them.
>>729429623The humans seem to have been there for some time before Aline got up to shenanigans if them having a past before the Fracture means anything.Of course time in the Canvas is not comparable to time outside of it since the Gestrals in the Verso drafts, the oldest part of the canvas, say they've been there for thousands and thousands of years.

>>729429869One thing that really struck me before I found out the big reveal was the expeditions really did feel like a monumental generational endeavor. Countless corpses and remnants of people who came before, not even knowing the truth. Really, the painted world aspect adds to it, especially with the endings.

I feel like the game starts of with one theme and abandons it for another in the second half. First is the generational progress and sacrifice for a better future and then its a family's grief. That's generally fine but the second theme ends up entirely undermining the first. "For those that come after" means nothing given all the expeditions only hastened Lumiere's fall.
