Easiest way to get audio to my PC from my docked Switch 2?I see people using 3.5mm cables connecting Switch 2's headphone jack to the line-in port on the PC but I also see 2 USB ports on the side of the dock. Which one works better?
>>729420262I use a capture card and then play my consoles through OBS
i just use the HDMI port on my monitor
>>729420497Unfortunately my monitor does not have built-in speakers so I gotta funnel it to my soundbar somehow, which is connected to my PC only
>>729420262I don't know anything about the switch 2 but I'm going to assume this two USB ports are the kind that don't carry audio. I could be wrong, test them out by plugging in some USB head phones. If they work, then go with those ports for audio. Personally, I'd use the 3.5 mm audio jack
i just use the USB-C port for my headphones while the switch 2 is docked
>>729420262Use the line in. If there's a buzzing noise, it's the sound of your unshielded audio cable being raped by your computer's power supply. If you're lucky the constant buzzing will drown out the sound of your wife's boyfriend plowing her in the other room. Enjoy.
>>729420580Does your monitor not have audio out? That's one thing I was looking for in my monitor when my old one burned out. Otherwise you're better off using the 3.5mm jack on the console. USB ports is staticky in my experience. Especially with bluetooth. The Switch 2 pro controller has a built in 3.5mm port now. Though that's best with headphones. Don't forget to update the pro controller for low latency mode.
>>729421425 (me)By USB I mean the dock. You can use a USB-C cable/dongle in the console just fine.
In the past I would feed my Switch, PS4, and PC into an HDMI splitter and feed that into my second monitor, and extract the audio from the splitter with an aux cable and feed that into my PC, and keep that channel active. This way I can just plug my headphones into my computer and either do whatever on my computer or my consoles and I can hear it all and play whatever at the same time.Switch 2 uses some new HDMI standard which my splitter doesn't fully support, so I can get video from it, but no audio. So instead I use an aux cable to feed Switch 2 audio from the headphone jack into my PC, and just keep that channel active. When I want to use my PS4 I have to switch the aux cable back to my splitter.
>>729421243You can buy a $5 ground loop isolator and fix that problem.
>>729421767Good idea, OP can ask his wife's boyfriend to buy him one
