Originally it was horrible, around 2008 it really picked up and it shaped up to be really great. Sony made a lot of stupid decisions with it, such as the unnecessarily edgy advertisements, the spider man font, forcing BDROM, removing official support for OtherOS linux, letting PSN stay down for close to a month, and having very few games at the beginning but they did atone.

Forgot removing rumble (which was more of a compromise because they were sued over the tech violating a patent) and masking it as "innovation" with the gyro, the cell processor, and launching at 600 USD
